Method is a technique aimed for teaching students. The purpose of the technique
is to develop the interest to learn in students and so that the learning
process is achieved well. In learning delivery, the method of teaching is
required in order to make the delivery efficient. The comparison of whole practice
and part practice method has done because the learning that will be showcased
is dribbling movements which should be mastered per individual along with its
ball possession mastery. The aim of this study are to understand the difference
and how big the influence is between whole practice and part practice learning
method on the result of Basketball dribbling practice conducted by SMP Negeri 2
Gedangan Class VIII students. Based on the result of the study, data comparison
between whole practice and part practice learning method is achieved, with
whole practice group possessing an average of 50,42 and 52,36 in pre test- post
test knowledge tests (difference of 1,94 and improvement as much as 3,84% in
points) while having pretest-posttest skills in an average of 58,72 and 60,78
(difference of 2,06 and improvement as much as 3,50% in points). On the other
hand, part practice group possesses pre test –post test knowledge tests value
in an average of 63,14 and 68,29 (difference of 5,15 and improvement as much as
8,15% in points) while the pre test – post test skill tests score is averaging
at 55,74 and 63,43 (improvement as much as 13,79% in points). From the data
above, it is concluded that part practice learning method is better than whole
practice learning method.
