Pemerintah mengeluarkan kebijakan berupa program jaminan kesehatan yang dikelola oleh Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS) namun dalam pelaksanaannya masih ditemukan kendala. Salah satunya adalah perbedaan pelayanan yang diterima oleh pasien BPJS dan pasien umum. Sisi empati tenaga kesehatan dirasa kurang di mata pasien BPJS.  Bidan sebagai salah satu tenaga kesehatan turut berperan dalam memberikan pengertian kepada pasien mengenai BPJS. Dalam memberikan asuhan kebidanan hubungan interaksi antara bidan dan pasien tidak terlepas dari aktivitas komunikasi. Komunikasi yang dilakukan bidan disebut dengan komunikasi terapeutik. Komunikasi terapeutik merupakan kemampuan atau keterampilan bidan dalam memperbaiki pengalaman pasien. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui komunikasi terapeutik Bidan Delima Sidoarjo dengan pasien BPJS yang dihubungkan dengan teori interaksi simbolik. Untuk menyelesaikan penelitian ini digunakan metode pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian komunikasi terapeutik yang dilakukan Bidan Delima Sidoarjo dengan pasien BPJS yaitu menekankan pada pendekatan kekeluargaan, penjelasan informasi yang berkelanjutan mengenai BPJS, mengedepankan sifat altruisme, memotivasi pasien untuk meningkatkan partisipasi pasien BPJS.

         The government issued a policy in the form of a health insurance program administered by the Social Security Organizing Agency (BPJS) but obstacles were still found on its implementation. One of these is the difference in service received by BPJS patients and general patient. The health workforce is felt less empathy on the eyes of the BPJS patients. Midwives as one of the health workforce are contributing in giving understanding to the patient regarding the BPJS. In providing midwifery care, between midwives and patients are inseparable from communication activities. Those communication activities is called therapeutic communicatin. Therapeutic communication is the ability or skills of midwives on improving the patients experience. This research was conducted with the aim to find out the influence of the BPJS program in therapeutic communication of Delima Midwives in Sidoarjo with BPJS patients associated with the symbolic interaction theory. This research used descriptive qualitative approach method. Data collection done by interviews and documentation. The results of a therapeutic communication study conducted by the Sidoarjo Delima Midwife with BPJS patients were emphasized on a family approach, an explanation of ongoing information about BPJS, promoting the nature of altruism, motivating patients to increase BPJS patient participation.
