Resistance Of The Gajah Village Community To The Demolication Of The Gajah Village Punden

Masyarakat Desa Gajah adalah masyarakat yang mendidami suatu desa di provinsi Jawa Timur. seperti masyarakat Jawa pada umumnya yang kental dengan tradisi. Masyarakat Desa Gajah juga masih menjalankan tradisi Jawa.  Nilai – nilai tradisi dari suku Jawa salah satunya masih dilakukan adalah kepercayaan terhadap Roh Nenek Moyang. Masyarakat Desa Gajah menyebutnya Danyang. Masyarakat percaya Danyang bersemayam di suatu tempat di wilayah desa Gajah yang mereka sebut  Punden Serut. Upacara adat berupa Selamatan sering diadakan di lokasi tersebut. Pada tahun 2018 tanah yang berada disekitar Punden Serut dibeli oleh Developer Perumahan yang berujung pembongkaran Punden Serut. Pembongkaran  Punden Serut menyebabkan Resistensi.  Penelitian memiliki tujuan membahas bentuk dan penyebab resistensi yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Desa Gajah terhadap pembongkaran Punden Desa Gajah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan perspektif teori Resistensi Sosial James C. Scott.  Hasil penelitian ini adalah resistensi masyarakat Desa Gajah terjadi dalam dua bentuk yaitu resistensi terbuka  dan tertutup. Resistensi terbuka yang terjadi disebabkan karena adanya pendangan budaya yang sangat kuat terhadap aturan tradisi, sejarah tidak menyenangkan terkait persitiwa pembongkaran Punden Serut sebelumnya, adanya ruang atau kesempatan untuk bermusyawarah secara langsung dengan Developer. Sedangkan, Resistensi tertutup terjadi karena masyarakat tidak memiliki kesempatan untuk musyawarah dengan Developer dan sebagai pengungkapan kekecewaan atas gagalnya resistensi terbuka yang mereka lakukan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini resistensi masyarakat desa Gajah terjadi dalam dua bentuk terbuka dan tertutup. Alasan mendasar terjadinya resistensi adalah pandangan budaya yang masih kental dan sejarah tidak menyenangkan terkait peristiwa pembongkaran Punden Serut. Resistensi terbuka terjadi sebelum pembongakaran terjadi dan masyarakat memiliki kesempatan untuk melakukan musyawarah dengan Developer. Resistensi tertutup terjadi setelah pembongkaran dan tidak adanya kesempatan untuk melakukan musyawarah.

The people of Gajah Village call it Danyang. The community believes Danyang resides somewhere in the Gajah village area which they call Punden Serut. Traditional ceremonies in the form of Selamatan are often held at that location. In 2018 the land around Punden Serut was purchased by a Housing Developer which led to the demolition of Punden Serut. The demolition of Shaved Punden causes Resistance. The aim of this research is to discuss the forms and causes of resistance by the Gajah Village community towards the dismantling of the Gajah Village Punden. This study uses qualitative research methods using the perspective of James C. Scott's Social Resistance theory. The results of this study are that the resistance of the people of Gajah Village occurs in two forms, namely open and closed resistance. The open resistance that occurred was due to a very strong cultural view of traditional rules, an unpleasant history related to the previous demolition of Punden Serut, the existence of space or opportunity to consult directly with the Developer. Meanwhile, closed resistance occurs because the community does not have the opportunity to consult with the developer and as an expression of disappointment over the failure of the open resistance that they did. The conclusion from this study is that the resistance of the Gajah village community occurs in two forms, open and closed. The basic reason for the occurrence of resistance is cultural views that are still thick and unpleasant history related to the demolition of Punden Serut. Open resistance occurred before demolition occurred and the community had the opportunity to hold discussions with the developer. Closed resistance followed the demolition and there was no opportunity for deliberation.
