Designing a Board Game Introduction to Balanced Nutrition as an Educational Medium for Children Aged 9-12 Years
Gizi seimbang bagi anak usia 9-12 tahun sangat penting karena di usia ini anak perlu asupan gizi yang baik agar mampu melakukan aktivitas secara optimal. Berdasarkan hasil survei, anak pada usia ini masih banyak yang tidak memahami pentingnya gizi seimbang sehingga anak dengan mudah mengonsumsi makanan dan minuman yang beresiko. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan gizi seimbang pada anak usia 9-12 tahun, membuat suasana belajar sambil bermain dengan media board game yang memiliki unsur interaktif sehingga anak mampu belajar lewat membaca, melihat visual permainan, dan mengingat teknik permainan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan analisis data 5W+1H, mengumpulkan data dengan wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Metode perancangan yang digunakan adalah 5 Phases of Design Process dari Robin Landa, yaitu (1) Orientation, (2) Analysis and Strategy, (3) Conceptual Design, (4) Design Development, (5) Implementation. Wawancara dilakukan dengan orangtua, anak sekolah dasar dan ahli gizi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah board game serta komponennya dengan judul permainan “Gizi Go : Gizi Seimbang Game” menggunakan alur permainan seperti monopoly game.
Balanced nutrition for children aged 9-12 years is very important because at this age children need good nutritional intake in order to be able to carry out activities optimally. Based on the survey results, many children at this age still do not understand the importance of balanced nutrition so that children consume foods and drinks that are at risk. This study aims to provide balanced nutritional knowledge to children aged 9-12 years, create a learning atmosphere while playing with board game media that has interactive elements so that children are able to learn through reading, seeing game visuals, and remembering game techniques. This research used qualitative methods with 5W +1H data analysis, collecting data with interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The design method used is 5 Phases of Design Process from Robin Landa, (1) Orientation, (2) Analysis and Strategy, (3) Conceptual Design, (4) Design Development, (5) Implementation. Interviews are conducted with parents of the child, elementary schoolchildren and nutritionists. The result of this study is a board game and its component is entitled "Gizi Go: Gizi Seimbang Game" with a gameplay like a monopoly game.
