THE EFFECT OF PROBLEM BASED LEARNING WITH THE VIDEO TUTORIAL MEDIA OF KEPANG AND PILIN ON THE CRITICAL THINKING ABILITY AND CREATIVITY OF VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang dipadukan dengan media video tutorial teknik kepang dan pilin terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreativitas siswa SMK. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya partisipasi aktif siswa dalam pembelajaran konvensional yang cenderung berpusat pada guru dan minimnya penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif dan kontekstual, khususnya dalam pembelajaran praktik penataan rambut di SMK.
Dipilih penelitian kuantitatif metode quasi-eksperimen, dengan desain One Group Pretest and Posttest. Subjek ujicoba 67 siswa kelas XI jurusan kecantikan di SMKN 3 Kediri. Hasil ujicoba instrumen observasi, tes esai, dan lembar penilaian berpikir kritis dan kreativitas menunjukkan bahwa ke empat instrumen valid-reliabel. Uji validitas mencapai skor presentase 90,67% dengan kualifikasi sangat baik. Uji reliabilitas menggunakan Cronbach’s Alpha dengan skor 0,615 hingga 0,967 (p > 0,600).
Hasil penelitian kuasi eksperimen ini mendukung hipotesis yakni ada pengaruh positif yang signifikan model pembelajaran PBL dengan media video tutorial teknik kepang dan pilin terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreativitas siswa SMK dalam mata pelajaran kecantikan dasar. Hasil statistik uji paired sample t-test untuk variabel kemampuan berpikir kritis, diperoleh skor t = -11,485 (p < 0,01), untuk variabel kreativitas diperoleh nilai t = -19,825 (p < 0,01). Terjadi peningkatan skor rerata kemampuan berpikir kritis sebesar 3,1493 (skor pretest-postest 13,8358-16,9851); dan skor rerata kreativitas siswa meningkat sebesar 34,2985 (skor pretest-postes 37,8657-72,1642). Disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran PBL dengan media video tutorial teknik kepang dan pilin dapat meningkatkan secara sangat signifikan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreativitas siswa SMK dalam mata pelajaran kecantikan dasar.
Hasil penelitian ini direkomendasikan dapat digunakan rujukan dalam merancang model pembelajaran inovatif yang ditujukan untuk peningkatan keterlibatan aktif siswa, peningkatan berfikir kritis dan kreatifitas siswa SMK dalam pembelajaran.

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model combined with braid and twist video tutorial media on critical thinking skills and creativity of vocational high school students. This research is motivated by the low active participation of students in conventional learning which tends to be centered on the teacher and the minimal use of interactive and contextual learning media, especially in learning hairdressing practices in vocational high schools.
A quantitative research method quasi-experimental method was chosen, with a One Group Pretest and Posttest design. The test subjects were 67 grade XI students majoring in beauty at SMKN 3 Kediri. The results of the observation instrument trial, essay test, and critical thinking and creativity assessment sheet showed that the four instruments were valid-reliable. The validity test achieved a percentage score of 90.67% with very good qualifications. The reliability test used Cronbach's Alpha with a score of 0.615 to 0.967 (p > 0.600).
The results of this quasi-experimental study support the hypothesis that there is a significant positive influence of the PBL learning model with video tutorial media on braiding and twisting techniques on improving critical thinking skills and creativity of vocational high school students in basic beauty subjects. The statistical results of the paired sample t-test for the critical thinking ability variable, obtained a score of t = -11.485 (p <0.01), for the creativity variable obtained a value of t = -19.825 (p <0.01). There was an increase in the average score of critical thinking skills by 3.1493 (pretest-posttest score 13.8358-16.9851); and the average score of student creativity increased by 34.2985 (pretest-posttest score 37.8657-72.1642). It is concluded that the PBL learning model with video tutorial media on braiding and twisting techniques can significantly improve the critical thinking skills and creativity of vocational high school students in basic beauty subjects.
The results of this study are recommended to be used as a reference in designing innovative learning models aimed at increasing active student involvement, increasing critical thinking and creativity of vocational high school students in learning.
