QUARTER LIFE CRISIS AS AN IDEA IN THE CREATION OF PAINTING WORKS

Masa remaja adalah masa peralihan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan dari berbagai perubahan fisik, sosial, emosional Quarter life crisis adalah suatu keadaan disaat usia individu beralih dari jenjang remaja menuju jenjang dewasa, disebut krisis karena pada titik ini individu belum siap untuk menghadapi kehidupan di dunia dewasa. Pada periode ini, individu akan dihantui perasaan kebingungan, terlalu banyak pilihan, ragu ragu, merasa tidak punya harapan, cemas serta khawatir tentang masa depan, karier, relasi dan kehidupan sosial. Hal tersebut yang pernah dialami perupa, sehingga tertarik untuk diwujudkannya ke dalam bentuk karya seni lukis.

Manfaat dari penciptaan karya seni lukis ini, perupa dapat mengeksplor ide kreatif, menjadi media pengganti untuk bercerita. Fokus ide penciptaan ini, menampilkan objek benda yang mewakili perasaan, ingatan dan keadan perupa dalam bentuk seni lukis, mengangkat konsep peristiwa dan kejadian yang pernah dialami perupa. Dalam mempersiapkan penciptaan karya ini, perupa menggunakan metode Practice-led Research yang memiliki beberapa tahapan yakni: tahap persiapan, tahap imajinasi, tahap pengembangan dan tahap pengerjaan. Hasilnya adalah lima lukisan bergaya figuratif serta mengandung unsur surrealis dari segi beberapa objek atau elemen, berukuran 100cm x 120cm, yang masing masing karya berjudul 1) Rumah? 2) Tempat (Tanpa Harapan) 3) Nomadic 4) Rokat 5) Ceritera Kriteria Tujuan dari penciptaan karya ini ialah sarana untuk mengungkapkan ekspresi, merefleksikan kehidupan perupa, memvisualisasikan peristiwa pengalaman hidup saat Quarter Life Crisis. Meskipun demikian, apa yang telah perupa hasilkan pasti memiliki kekurangan, oleh karena itu perupa mengharap saran dan kritik dari berbagai pihak demi perkembangan hasil karya kedepannya menjadi lebih baik.

Adolescence is a transitional period of growth and development from various physical, social, emotional changes Quarter  life crisis is a condition when the age of individuals moves from adolescence to adulthood, called crisis because at this point the individual is not ready to face life in the adult world. In this period, individuals will be haunted by feelings of confusion, too many choices, doubts, feelings of hopelessness, anxiety and worry about the future, career, relationships and social life. This is what the artist has experienced, so he is interested in realizing it into the form of painting.

The benefits of creating this painting work, artists can explore creative ideas, become a substitute medium for telling stories. The focus of this idea of creation, displaying objects that represent the feelings, memories and conditions of the artist in the form of painting, raises the concept of events and events that have been experienced by the artist. In preparing for the creation of this  work, the artist uses the Practice-led Research  method which has several stages, namely: the preparation stage, the imagination stage, the development stage and the work stage. The result is five paintings in figurative style and contain surrealist elements in terms of several objects or elements, measuring 100cm x 120cm, each of which is entitled 1) Rumah? 2) Tempat (Tanpa Harapan)  3) Nomadic 4) Rokat 5) Ceritera Kriteria. The purpose of the creation of this work is a means to express expression, reflect on the artist's life, visualize life experience events during  the Quarter Life Crisis. However, what the artist has produced must have shortcomings, therefore the artist expects suggestions and criticism from various parties for the development of future works for the better.
