PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PHOTOVOICE MELALUI OUTING CLASS DALAM CLIMATE CHANGE EDUCATION UNTUK MENUMBUHKAN KESADARAN DAN KECERDASAN LINGKUNGAN
Development of Photovoice Media through Outing Class Activities in Climate Change Education to Foster Environmental Awareness and Environmental Intelligence
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media Photovoice melalui kegiatan Outing Class sebagai inovasi pembelajaran untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran dan kecerdasan lingkungan peserta didik sekolah dasar. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang mencakup tahap Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas V di salah satu sekolah dasar di kota Surabaya. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, angket validasi, serta tes keefektifan sebelum dan sesudah penerapan media. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media Photovoice memiliki tingkat kevalidan rata-rata 91,7%, terdiri dari validasi ahli materi sebesar 94,4% dan validasi ahli media sebesar 89%, dengan kategori sangat valid. Hasil uji kepraktisan memperoleh skor rata-rata 3,78 dari skala 4, tergolong sangat praktis, menunjukkan media mudah digunakan dan menarik minat siswa. Uji keefektifan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan terhadap kesadaran dan kecerdasan lingkungan siswa, dengan nilai rata-rata pretest 82,15% dan posttest 92,5%. Berdasarkan hasil uji-t berpasangan (paired sample t-test) diperoleh nilai t-hitung = 6,327 > t-tabel = 2,048 (α = 0,05), yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan media. Selain itu, nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,72 termasuk dalam kategori tinggi, menandakan peningkatan yang substansial dalam kesadaran dan kecerdasan lingkungan peserta didik. Kesimpulannya, media Photovoice melalui Outing Class dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan reflektif, berpikir kritis, serta kepedulian lingkungan peserta didik. Produk ini direkomendasikan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran kontekstual berorientasi pendidikan berkelanjutan di sekolah dasar.

This study aims to develop a Photovoice -based learning media integrated with Outing Class activities as an innovative approach to fostering environmental awareness and environmental intelligence among elementary school students. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects were fifth-grade students at an elementary school in Surabaya. Data collection techniques included observations, interviews, validation questionnaires, and pretest–posttest effectiveness assessments.
The results revealed that the Photovoice media obtained an average validity score of 91.7%, consisting of 94.4% from material expert validation and 89% from media expert validation, both categorized as highly valid. The practicality test showed an average score of 3.78 out of 4, indicating that the media is highly practical, easy to use, and engaging for students. The effectiveness test demonstrated a significant improvement in students’ environmental awareness and environmental intelligence, with the average pretest score increasing from 82.15% to 92.5% in the posttest. The paired sample t-test produced a t-value of 6.327, which was greater than the t-table value of 2.048 (α = 0.05), indicating a significant difference before and after using the media. Additionally, the N-Gain score of 0.72 fell into the high category, signifying substantial improvement in students’ environmental awareness and intelligence.
In conclusion, the Photovoice media integrated with Outing Class activities is proven to be valid, practical, and effective in enhancing students’ reflective abilities, critical thinking skills, and environmental awareness. This product is recommended as an alternative contextual learning media oriented toward sustainable education in elementary schools.
