Exploration of Komodo as Inspiration for Wedding Dress Design With Rope Closure Technique

Komodo menjadi sumber ide awal terciptanya rancangan manipulating fabric lekapan tali pada gaun pengantin wanita.  Komodo merupakan spesies biawak besar yang terdapat di pulau komodo, yang menjadi sumber ide rancangan manipulating fabric lekapan tali pada  gaun pengantin wanita. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendeskripsikan: 1) proses eksplorasi komodo sebagai inspirasi rancangan gaun pengantin dengan tema The Elegant Of Varanus Komodensis Sumbawa, dan 2) hasil eskplorasi komodo sebagai inspirasi rancangan pada busana pengantin dengan tema Elegant Of Varanus Komodensis Sumbawa. Artikel ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian penciptaan karya double diamond model, yang terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu discover, define, develop, dan deliver. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan dokumentasi dan penilaian produk. Instrumen penelitian berupa rubric dan lembar penilaian produk. Pengambilan data dengan mengambil lembar penilaian dengan jumlah penilai ahli sebanyak 4 orang dari dosen tata busana Unesa. Metode analisis data menggunakan metode deskriptif, dengan menghitung nilai rata-rata berdasarkan aspek penilaian produk. Hasil penelitian menyatakan: 1) Proses eksplorasi komodo sebagai inspirasi rancangan gaun dengan tema The Elegant Of Varanus Komodensis Sumbawa. Menggunakan kain satin  dimulai dari membuat desain manipulating lekapan tali yang sesuai dengan bentuk sumber ide komodo. Proses penerapan lekapan tali dan ruffle di mulai dengan kain satin  yang sudah dipotong lalu membentuk tali-tali atau sengkelit. Kemudian dijahit membentuk tali, setelah jadi tali-tali tersebut dilekapkan pada permukaan kain tile yang polanya membentuk komodo dengan dilekapkan mengunakan tusuk balut. Lalu mengatur peletakan lekapan tali pada bagian muka dan belakang busana.  2) Hasil jadi eksplorasi  komodo sebagai inspirasi rancangan gaun pengantin dengan teknik lekapan tali bertema The Elegant of Varanus Komodensis Sumbawa sudah terkategori  sangat baik dengan rata-rata hasil penilaian 4,625.

The Komodo dragon is a large lizard species found on the island of Komodo, which became the source of the idea for the design of the manipulating fabric straps on the bride's dress The objectives of the study were: 1) the exploration process of Komodo dragons as an inspiration for wedding dress designs with the theme The Elegant Of Varanus Komodensis Sumbawa, and 2) the results of exploration of Komodo dragons as inspiration for wedding dress designs with the theme Elegant Of Varanus Komodensis Sumbawa. This article uses an approach to the creation of the double diamond model, which consists of 4 stages, namely discovery, define, develop, and deliver. Methods of data collection using documentation and product quality. The research instruments are rubrics and product assessment sheets. Collecting data by taking an assessment with a total of 4 appraisers from Unesa fashion lecturers. The data analysis method used descriptive method, by calculating the average value based on the product assessment aspect. The results of the study stated: 1) The process of exploring the Komodo dragon as the inspiration for the design of the dress with the theme The Elegant Of Varanus Komodensis Sumbawa. Using satin fabric starts with making a rope manipulation design that matches the shape of the source of the Komodo dragon's idea. The process of applying the laces and ruffles begins with the satin fabric that is cut and then forms the ropes or loops. Then it is sewn to form a rope, after it is finished the ropes are attached to the surface of the tile cloth whose pattern is to form a Komodo dragon by using a dressing stitch. Then arrange the laying of the straps on the front and back of the clothes. 2) The results of the exploration of Komodo dragons as inspiration for the design of wedding dresses with the lace-up technique with the theme The Elegant of Varanus Komodensis Sumbawa are categorized as very good with an average rating of 4,625.
