Pemahaman Konsep Bentuk Aljabar Menggunakan Teori APOS Ditinjau Dari Tipe Kepribadian

Understanding the Concept of Algebraic Form Using APOS Theory in Terms of Personality Type

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan pemahaman konsep bentuk aljabar siswa SMP menggunakan teori APOS ditinjau dari tipe kepribadian introvert dan ekstrovert. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada salah satu SMP Negeri di Bangkalan. Subjek pada penelitian ini terdiri dari satu siswa perempuan berkepribadian introvert dan satu siswa perempuan berkepribadian ekstrovert. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu peneliti (instrumen kunci), angket tipe kepribadian, tes pemahaman konsep dan wawancara (instrumen pendukung). Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini dengan menggunakan metode angket, tes dan wawancara. Teknik analisa data yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini yaitu data angket MBTI, data tes pemahaman konsep bentuk aljabar, dan data wawancara (reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep bentuk aljabar siswa introvert berdasarkan teori APOS berada pada tahap aksi, proses, objek dan skema terkait konsep menyelesaikan operasi hitung penjumlahan, pengurangan, dan pembagian bentuk aljabar, dan berada pada tahap aksi terkait konsep menyelesaikan permasalahan kontekstual yang berkaitan dengan bentuk aljabar. Sedangkan pemahaman konsep bentuk aljabar siswa ekstrovert berdasarkan teori APOS berada pada tahap aksi terkait konsep menyelesaikan operasi hitung penjumlahan, pengurangan, perkalian, dan pembagian bentuk aljabar serta konsep menyelesaikan permasalahan kontekstual yang berkaitan dengan bentuk aljabar. Peneliti berharap agar penelitian ini dapat dijadikan bahan pertimbangan guru untuk lebih memperhatikan tipe kepribadian yang dimiliki oleh siswa, agar konsep dapat melekat dan mengurangi terjadinya kesalahan pemahaman terhadap konsep.

This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The purpose of this study is to describe the understanding of the concept of algebraic form of junior high school students using APOS theory in terms of introverted and extroverted personality types. This research was conducted at one of the public junior high schools in Bangkalan. The subjects in this study consisted of one female student with introverted personality and one female student with extroverted personality. The instruments used in this study are researchers (key instruments), personality type questionnaires, concept understanding tests and interviews (supporting instruments). Data collection techniques carried out in this study using questionnaire, test and interview methods. Data analysis techniques used in this study are MBTI questionnaire data, algebraic form concept understanding test data, and interview data (data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing). The results showed that the understanding of the concept of algebraic forms of introverted students based on APOS theory is at the action, process, object and scheme stages related to the concept of solving the arithmetic operations of addition, subtraction, and division of algebraic forms, and is at the action stage related to the concept of solving contextual problems related to algebraic forms. While the understanding of the concept of algebraic forms of extroverted students based on APOS theory is at the action stage related to the concept of solving the arithmetic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of algebraic forms and the concept of solving contextual problems related to algebraic forms. The researcher hopes that this research can be used as a consideration for teachers to pay more attention to the type of personality possessed by students, so that concepts can stick and reduce the occurrence of misunderstanding of concepts.
