FOR LEARNING THE ELEMENTS OF VISUAL ART
IN SMAN 1 PULUNG PONOROGO
The elements of visual art are the most basic material of visual art. According to the observation, the students of SMAN 1 Pulung do not necessarily know all the elements of visual art. SMAN 1 Pulung is a school that has potential in art, but the learning media has not been varied. There is a need for interesting learning media to introduce students to the elements of visual art.
This study aims to determine the process of making learning media in the form of pop up book, knowing the results of the trial utilizing pop up book media elements of visual art, and knowing the results and student responses to pop up book learning media elements of visual art.
The research method used for this research is Sugiyono's Research and Development (R&D) method. This research focuses on the development of pop up book teaching media of viual art elements and looking at the results and student responses to this media. The development steps include potential and problem analysis, data collection, product design, design validation, and limited trials.
The result of this research is a pop up book of visual art elements as much as 2 series. Series 1 introduction to the elements of visual art and sei 2 introduction to the elements of visual art (color section). The manufacturing process begins with collecting material by looking for reference material and pop up techniques. Then designing the product in the Ibis Paint X application and printed using art paper and finally assembled into a pop up book. After completion, this book was validated. Media validation received a score of 88% and material validation received 76%.
The testing phase was conducted with 12 students of class X-7 SMAN 1 Pulung. Before using the pop up book, students first did a pretest on making point and line nirmana. Then students were given material with pop up book of visual art elements. Finally, students took a post-test to determine the extent of the influence of pop up book elements of visual art. The results of the pretest students got an average score of 58.75, then in the post-test students got a score of 77, an increase of 18%.
Pop up book received an enthusiastic response from students. This book is also effective for increasing student scores, then in the book assessment questionnaire by respondents received a score of 97.5%. This value indicates that the book is highly accepted by students.
