Pembelajaran seni budaya di kelas XI - 8 SMA Negeri 1 Kamal berisi materi tentang berkarya seni rupa dua dimensi “Membuat Karya Ekspresi Personal”. Dalam proses praktik berkarya masih monoton seperti melukis pada kertas gambar, kanvas, dan telenan. Siswa perlu dilatih untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan menambah pengalaman baru berkarya seni rupa, salah satunya dengan berkarya seni paper cutting bertema kebudayaan Madura.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu (1) mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran seni paper cutting bertema kebudayaan Madura oleh siswa kelas XI-8 SMA Negeri 1 Kamal; (2) mendeskripsikan hasil karya seni paper cutting bertema kebudayaan Madura oleh siswa kelas XI-8 SMA Negeri 1 Kamal; (3) mendeskripsikan tanggapan guru dan siswa terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran seni paper cutting bertema “Kebudayaan Madura” oleh siswa kelas XI - 8 SMA Negeri 1 Kamal.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data melalui teknik observasi terhadap pembelajaran seni budaya di kelas XI - 8 SMA Negeri 1 Kamal, wawancara dengan guru seni budaya kelas XI - 8 mengenai tanggapan kegiatan penelitian, dokumentasi kegiatan penelitian, angket yang diisi oleh siswa kelas XI - 8 untuk mengetahui tanggapan kegiatan penelitian, dan hasil karya seni paper cutting bertema “Kebudayaan Madura” dengan menerapkan teknik memotong dan menggunting. Teknik analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Validitas data menggunakan triangulasi data.
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama enam kali pertemuan di kelas XI - 8 dengan jumlah 36 siswa. Pertemuan pertama yaitu guru seni budaya memperkenalkan peneliti kepada siswa kelas XI – 8, serta pembagian kelompok. Pertemuan kedua, penyampaian materi tentang seni paper cutting menggunakan media powerpoint dan LCD. Pertemuan ketiga, pembuatan sketsa pada karton dan konsultasi sketsa dengan peneliti. Pertemuan keempat, proses pemotongan kertas secara bertahap mulai dari kertas yang paling depan . Pertemuan kelima, proses men-display karya dengan menempelkan sedotan dan memasangkan karya pada pigora 3 dimensi yang telah disiapkan. Pertemuan keenam, siswa mempresentasikan karyanya masing-masing, pengisian angket, dan foto bersama.
Hasil karya penerapan seni paper cutting bertema kebudayaan Madura sebanyak 6 karya dua dimensi hiasan dinding menggunakan pigora ukuran 40x50 cm. Terdapat empat kelompok yang memperoleh nilai kategori sangat baik dengan rentang nilai 91 - 100, dan dua kelompok yang memperoleh nilai kategori baik dengan rentang nilai 81 - 90. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa mampu mempraktikkan dan kreatif dalam berkarya seni paper cutting dilihat dari hasil karya yang memuaskan. Kegiatan penelitian mendapat tanggapan yang positif dari guru seni budaya dan siswa kelas XI - 8 yang selalu semangat pada saat kegiatan penelitian berlangsung dari awal sampai akhir.

Art and culture learning in class XI - 8 of Senior High School 1 Kamal contains material on creating two-dimensional fine art "Creating Personal Expression Works". In the process of practicing the work, it is still monotonous, such as painting on drawing paper, canvas, and cutting boards. Students need to be trained to improve their skills and gain new experiences in creating fine art, one of which is by creating paper cutting art with the theme of Madurese culture.
The objectives of this research are (1) to describe the implementation of the learning process for the art of paper cutting with a Madurese cultural theme by students in class XI - 8 of Senior High School 1 Kamal; (2) describe the results of paper cutting artwork with the theme of Madurese culture by class XI - 8 students of Senior High School 1 Kamal; (3) describe the responses of teachers and students to the Madurese culture-themed paper cutting art learning activity by class XI - 8 students at Senior High School 1 Kamal.
This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection through observation techniques on arts and culture learning in class XI-8 Senior High School 1 Kamal, interviews with class XI - 8 arts and culture teachers regarding responses to research activities, documentation of research activities, questionnaires filled out by class research, and results of paper cutting artwork with the theme of Madurese culture using cutting and cutting techniques. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity uses data triangulation.
This research was carried out over five meetings in class XI - 8 with a total of 36 students. The first meeting was when the arts and culture teacher introduced the researcher to the students in grades XI – 8, and group division. The second meeting, delivery of material about paper cutting art using powerpoint and LCD media. The third meeting, making sketches on cardboard and consulting sketches with researchers. The fourth meeting, the process of cutting paper in stages starting from the front paper. The fifth meeting, the process of displaying the work by attaching straws and attaching the work to a 3-dimensional frame that had been prepared. The sixth meeting, students presented their respective works, filled out questionnaires, and took photos together.
The results of the work of applying paper cutting art with the theme of Madurese culture are 6 two-dimensional wall decoration works using frames measuring 40x50 cm. There were four groups that received very good category scores with a score range of 91 - 100, and two groups that received good category scores with a score range of 81 - 90. This shows that students are able to practice and be creative in creating paper cutting art as seen from the satisfactory results of their work. The research activity received a positive response from arts and culture teachers and students in class XI - 8 who were always enthusiastic during the research activity from start to finish.
