Development of Web-Based Game Based Learning Media to Improve High School Students' Understanding of Concepts in Economics Subjects
Pemahaman konsep menjadi bagian sangat penting karena dapat membantu siswa untuk menyelesaikan masalah di dalam pelajaran dan lingkungan termasuk mendukung minat siswa di tahap belajar berikutnya. Kondisi pembelajaran di salah satu SMA Surabaya menunjukkan rendahnya pemahaman konsep siswa pada mata pelajaran ekonomi khususnya pada materi masalah pokok ekonomi dan sistem ekonomi sehingga perlu ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui kelayakan media game based learning ular tangga berbasis web; (2) menganalisis keefektifan penggunaan media game based learning ular tangga berbasis web; (3) meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik melalui penggunaan game based learning berbasis web; serta (4) mengetahui respon peserta didik terhadap media game based learning berbasis web. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah research and development dengan model pengembangan ADDIE oleh dick and Carry yang terdiri dari 5 tahap yaitu analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, & Evaluation. Uji coba produk dilakukan secara terbatas pada 31 peserta didik di SMA menggunakan desain uji coba One Group Pretest-Posttest yang di analisis dengan pengujian n-gain score dan paired sample test. Hasil analisis penelitian menunjukkan (1) produk yang dikembangkan sangat layak digunakan dengan penilaian berdasarkan ahli materi sebesar 94,6% dan ahli media sebesar 91,3% (2) produk pengembangan diketahui dinilai baik pada indikator pembelajaran efektif berdasarkan respon siswa dengan rerata penilaian sebesar 79,74% (3) Media yang diimplementasikan secara efektif dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa ditunjukkan dengan hasil gain score 0,65 dengan perolehan uji t sig. 0,00 < 0,05. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran game based learning ular tangga berbasis web sangat layak digunakan sebagai penunjang media pembelajaran siswa khususnya dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa SMA.
Understanding concepts is a very important part because it can help students to solve problems in lessons and the environment, including supporting student interest in the next learning stage. Learning conditions at one of Surabaya's high schools show that students' understanding of concepts in economics subjects is low, especially in the main problems of economics and economic systems material, so it needs to be improved. This research aims to (1) determine the feasibility of the web-based snakes and ladders game based learning media; (2) analyze the effectiveness of using web-based snakes and ladders game based learning media; (3) improving student learning outcomes through the use of web-based game based learning media; and (4) knowing students' responses to web-based game based learning media. The type of research used is research and development with the ADDIE development model by Dick and Carry which consists of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, Implementation, & evaluation. Product trials were carried out on a limited basis on 31 high school students using a One Group Pretest-Posttest trial design which was analyzed using n-gain score testing and paired sample tests. The results of the research analysis show (1) the product developed is very worthy for use with an assessment based on material experts of 94.6% and media experts of 91.3% (2) the development product is known to be rated good on effective learning indicators based on student responses with an average assessment of 79.74% (3) Media that is implemented effectively can improve student learning outcomes as indicated by the gain score of 0.65 with the sig t test. 0.00 < 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the web-based snakes and ladders game based learning media is very worthy to be used as a support for student learning media, especially in increasing high school students' understanding of concepts.
