ABSTRACT
This
analytical study serves as an alternative approach to understanding the impact
of economic growth on environmental pollution levels
across various provinces in Indonesia. The variables used include Gross Regional
Domestic Product at Current Market Prices (GRDPADHB), Gross Domestic Product
(GDP) per capita, and environmental pollution levels
measured by the proportion of polluted villages
(calculated as the ratio of polluted
villages to the total number of villages). The study also incorporates
population growth rate (categorized into several groups) and population
density. The data used in this study is cross-sectional, sourced from the
Central Statistics Agency (BPS) 2024 database. The analysis method employed is
multivariate regression using STATA 13, facilitated by the DeepSeek AI program.
The findings
indicate that economic growth in Indonesian provinces does not directly cause
environmental pollution. However, pollution
levels may rise alongside increasing economic prosperity and population growth. Therefore, appropriate
mitigation policies from stakeholders are essential to address these impacts.
