Proses pembekuan spermatozoa memerlukan senyawa antioksidan dalam pengencer untuk menetralisir efek negatif radikal bebas. Antioksidan dapat berupa bahan sintetis atau bahan alam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dalam pengencer tris-citric-acid soya terhadap kualitas spermatozoa Kambing Boer. Desain penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak lengkap (RAL)  dengan empat perlakuan konsentrasi ekstrak kulit manggis (0%, 2%, 4%, 6%) dan lima pengulangan. Data penelitian yang meliputi motilitas dan viabilitas dianalisis menggunakan uji Anava satu arah dan dilanjutkan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan perlakuan dengan konsentrasi 4% dapat mempertahankan kualitas spermatozoa sesudah pembekuan meliputi motilitas sebesar 49,50+1,56% dan viabilitas sebesar 69,46+3,85%. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penambahan konsentrasi ekstrak kulit manggis 4% dalam pengencer tris-citric-acid soya dapat mempertahankan kualitas spermatozoa Kambing Boer yang disimpan dalam nitrogen cair dan merupakan konsentrasi terbaik.

The freezing process of spermatozoa requires antioxidant compounds in diluents to neutralize the negative effects of free radicals. Antioxidants can be synthetic or natural ingredients. This study aimed to determine the effect of various concentrations of mangosteen peel extract in tris-citric-acid soya diluents on the spermatozoa quality of Boer Goat. The research was designed by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with treatment of mangosteen peel extract concentrations (0%, 2%, 4%, 6%) and five repetitions. The data covering motility and viability were analyzed using one-way Anava test and Duncan test. The results showed that concentration treatment of 4% can maintain the quality of spermatozoa after freezing include motility of 49.50+1.56% and viability of 69.46+3.85%. In conclusion the addition of mangosteen peel extract at concentration of 4% in the tris-citric-acid soya diluent maintained the spermatozoa quality of Boer goat stored in liquid nitrogen and it was the best treatments.
