Improving Children's Speaking Skills Through the Read Aloud Method at PPT Melati Surabaya

 Kemampuan berbicara pada anak pada saat ini mengalami keterlambatan sehingga menjadi masalah bagi perkembangan bahasa anak usia dini. Hal inilah yang melatar belakangi penelitian ini. Sehingga peneliti mempunyai tujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara pada anak dengan menggunakan metode Read-Aloud. Desain penelitian menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu 12 peserta didik usia 3-4 Tahun di PPT Melati Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan 2 siklus dan 3 butir indikator yaitu mampu mengucapkan 5-6 kata, menceritakan kembali isi buku cerita dan menjawab pertanyaan dan bertanya dengan baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian melalui metode Read-aloud secara keseluruhan terbukti efektif dan berhasil dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara pada anak usia 3-4 tahun sehingga metode read aloud ini sangat efektif bagi pendidik ataupun orang tua.

The ability to speak in children is currently delayed so that it becomes a problem for the development of early childhood language. This is the background of this study. So the researcher has the aim to improve the ability to speak in children by using the Read-Aloud method. The research design uses classroom action research. Data collection techniques through observation and documentation. The subjects of this study were 12 students aged 3-4 years at PPT Melati Surabaya. This study used 2 cycles and 3 indicator items, namely being able to say 5-6 words, retelling the contents of the story book and answering questions and asking questions well. Based on the results of the study through the Read-aloud method as a whole, it has been proven effective and successful in improving the ability to speak in children aged 3-4 years so that this read aloud method is very effective for educators or parents.
