The Potential of Gedi Leaf Extracts (Abelmoschus manihot (L.) Medik) as The Biofungicide of Aspergillus flavus Link ex Fries

    Aspergillus flavus Link ex Fries merupakan cendawan yang menyerang hasil pertanian, terutama biji-bijian. Salah satu penanganan dalam menghambat pertumbuhan cendawan ini ialah dengan menggunakan ekstrak daun gedi (Abelmoschus manihot (L.) Medik) sebagai biofungisida. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun gedi (Abelmoschus   manihot (L.) Medik) dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Aspergillus flavus Link ex Fries ditinjau dari aktivitas antifungi (anti fungal activity). Penelitian ini termasuk ekperimental dengan penerapan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat kali ulangan. Variasi konsentrasi yang digunakan meliputi: 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, dan 60%, dimana aquades berperan sebagai kontrol negatif, sedangkan fungisida sintetik Zephir+ berperan sebagai kontrol positif. Parameter yang diamati adalah diameter pertumbuhan cendawan yang digunakan untuk menghitung aktivitas anti fungi. Hasil kemudian dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA Oneway dan dilanjutkan Duncan test. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan terdapat pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun gedi (A. manihot (L.) Medik) dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Aspergillus flavus Link ex Fries. Konsentrasi 60%  ekstrak daun gedi (A.  manihot (L.) Medik) mempunyai nilai aktivitas antifungi sebesar 73,4750±3,74288%.

Aspergillus flavus Link ex Fries is a fungus that attacks agricultural products, especially seeds. Moreover, for solving the problem, gedi leaf extracts (Abelmoschus manihot (L.) Medik) can inhibit the growth of fungus as a biofungicide. The goals of this research are knowing the effect from gedi leaf extract for impeding growth of  Aspergillus flavus Link ex Fries, where it can be seen from anti fungal activity. The method of research was experimental by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four replications. The concentrations of gedi leaf extracts including: 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, and 60%, where aqua dest as negative control, and the Zephir+ (synthetic fungicide) as positive control. A parameter was diameter of fungus, which it used for knowing anti fungal activity. The The results analyzed using ANOVA Oneway and continued with the Duncan test. Overall, the research indicated that there were effects of giving gedi leaf extracts for impeded the growth of Aspergillus flavus Link ex Fries. The 60% concentration of gedi leaf extract had a anti fungal activity value by 73,4750±3,74288%.
