The Influence of Microteaching Learning, Perceptions of the Teacher Profession, Self-Efficacy, and Family Environment on Interest in Becoming a Vocational School Accounting Teacher among Bachelor of Accounting Education Students at Surabaya State University
Education has an important role in improving the character of Human Resources. A teacher is one of the main components that can improve the quality of education. Therefore, education students are prepared to become qualified, competent and professional teachers in the future. However, not all students have an interest in becoming teachers in the future. The aim of this research is to analyze variables that can influence students' interest in becoming teachers, especially accounting teachers. Microteaching learning, perceptions of the teaching profession, self-efficacy, and family environment are used as exogenous research factors. The population in this study were 2020 Accounting Education students, Surabaya State University, totaling 59 students using a saturated sampling technique. Data collection methods were carried out through interviews and questionnaires. Data processing in this research was through Smart-PLS 3.2.9 software with Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis techniques using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach. The research results show that: 1) Simultaneously, microteaching learning, perceptions of the teaching profession, self-efficacy, and family environment have a significant effect on interest in becoming a teacher. 2) Partially, microteaching learning does not have a significant effect on interest in becoming a teacher, while perceptions of the teaching profession, self-efficacy and family environment have a significant effect on interest in becoming a teacher.
