POTENTIAL AND BUSINESS PROSPECTS OF SNAKEHEAD SHREDDED FISH (Channa striata)

Ikan merupakan bahan makanan yang memiliki protein yang berguna untuk pemanfaatan secara konsisten. Ikan gabus sangat potensial diolah menjadi produk makanan abon ikan yang memiliki nilai tambah. Tujuan penulisan ini ialah untuk menemukan informasi mengenai potensi abon ikan gabus sebagai prospek usaha. Prospek usaha abon ikan gabus untuk memperoleh keuntungan dengan cara mengolah sumber daya ekonomi secara efektif dan efisien pada ruang lingkup prospek usaha abon ikan gabus yaitu: (1) aspek pasar meliputi permintaan, persaingan pasar, kendala pemasaran; (2) aspek produksi meliputi tata letak, bahan baku dan tenaga kerja; dan (3) aspek pemasaran meliputi produk, harga, tempat dan promosi. Prospek usaha abon ikan gabus mempunyai kemungkinan untuk memperoleh keuntungan yang dapat dilihat pada bahan baku cukup mudah diperoleh dan persaingan antar pengusaha abon ikan masih sangat sedikit.

Fish is a food that has protein which is useful for consistent use. Snakehead fish has the potential to be processed into shredded fish food products that have added value. The purpose of this paper is to find information about the potential of snakehead fish shredded as a business prospect. The business prospects for shredded snakehead fish to gain profit by processing economic resources effectively and efficiently within the scope of business prospects for shredded snakehead fish, namely: (1) market aspects include demand, market competition, marketing constraints; (2) aspects of production include layout, raw materials and labor; and (3) marketing aspects including product, price, place and promotion. The prospect of shredded snakehead fish business has the possibility to gain profits, which can be seen from the fact that the raw material is quite easy to obtain and there is very little competition among shredded fish entrepreneurs.
