RELASI KUASA DALAM NOVEL THE RISE OF MAJAPAHIT KARYA SETYO WARDOYO: PERSPEKTIF MICHEL FOUCAULT

POWER RELATIONS IN THE RISE OF MAJAPAHIT BY SETYO WARDOYO'S NOVEL: MICHEL FOUCAULT'S PERSPECTIVE

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan relasi kuasa dalam novel The Rise of Majapahit karya Setyo Wardoyo diterbitkan tahun 2014 di Jakarta yang meliputi konsep kekuasaan, relasi kuasa, dan resistensi kekuasaan kajian Michel Foucault. Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh adanya relasi kuasa yang terjadi antara para penguasa dan raja di zaman kerajaan tersebut, relasi yang terbentuk mempengaruhi jalannya kekuasaan dan sistem saat itu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan mimetik. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode simak dan catat. Hasil yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini secara keseluruhan yaitu, (1) Konsep kekuasaan yang dijalankan dalam novel The Rise of Majapahit oleh pemegang kekuasaan, ditemukan bahwa Raja Singhasari melakukan perkawinan politik dan ekspedisi Pamalayu sebagai strategi kekuasaan. (2) Relasi kuasa yang terbentuk dalam sebuah kekuasaan memengaruhi bagaimana kekuasaan berjalan, seperti relasi kuasa atas pikiran menghasilkan ideologi diteruskan keturunan Majapahit. Pada relasi kuasa atas tubuh, pemegang kekuasaan mengendalikan kebebasan tubuh individu, pada tubuh sosial terdapat budaya warisan leluhur, adat, dan aturan kerajaan mengendalikan tubuh sosial. (3) Resistensi kekuasaan dalam novel The Rise of Majapahit adalah bentuk perlawanan dan pemberontakan terhadap kekuasaan Singhasari dan Kadhiri.

This research aims to describe the power relations in Setyo Wardoyo's novel The Rise of Majapahit, which was published in Jakarta in 2014 and includes Michel Foucault's notions of power, power relations, and power resistance. The existence of power relations between rulers and kings in the era of the kingdom spurred this study; the relationships developed altered the course of power and the system at the time. This is a qualitative study that uses a mimetic method. Listening and note was the data collection approach utilized in this investigation. (1) The idea of power that is carried out in the novel The Rise of Majapahit by the holder of power, it is found that Raja Singhasari used political marriage and the Pamalayu expedition as a power strategy in this study as a whole. (2) How a power operates is influenced by the power relations that are developed inside it, such as the power relation over the mind to produce ideology that is passed down to Majapahit's successors. In the relationship of power over the body, the holder of power controls the individual body's freedom, while the social body is governed by ancestral culture, customs, and royal norms.(3) In the novel The Rise of Majapahit, power resistance is a form of resistance and rebellion against Singhasari and Kadhiri's power.
