METAPHOR OF DEATH IN THE POETRY ANTHOLOGY OF NUR EIN DUFT UND WINDESWEHEN

Makna figuratif atau kiasan yang berupa metafora, sebagai perangkat bahasa yang banyak digunakan dalam penulisan puisi. Metafora difungsikan untuk menghindari penggunaan kata yang monoton yang dapat menimbulkan kejenuhan para pembaca dalam menikmati karya puisi. Sehingga dalam penelitian ini  mengangkat metafora kematian pada puisi-puisi kematian yang terdapat dalam antologi puisi “Nur Ein Duft und Windeswehen” karya Hermann Hesse. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  mengetahui tentang jenis-jenis metafora kematian dan kekuatan yang mendukung terbentuknya metafora dalam puisi-puisi kematian pada antologi puisi Nur Ein Duft, Und Windeswehen. Di dalam proses penelitian ini mendeskripsikan jenis metafora kematian dan bentuk kekuatan yang terdapat didalam metafora menggunakan teori dari Lakoff dan Turner.  Jenis penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian kualitatif  deskriptif. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah puisi-puisi kematian dalam antologi puisi “Nur Ein Duft und Windeswehen” karya Hermann Hesse. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa kata atau kalimat dalam setiap larik puisi kematian yang teridentifikasi adanya metafora kematian. Hasil dari penelitian ini terdapat 14 kata atau kalimat yang memuat 6 jenis metafora kematian, yakni: mati adalah keberangkatan (3); mati adalah pergi ke tujuan akhir (4); mati adalah tidur (3); mati adalah kehilangan cairan (1); mati adalah pembebasan (1); dan, mati adalah kegelapan (2). Dan terdapat  4 kekuatan metafora yang dimanfaatkan Hermann Hesse dalam penggunaan metafora kematian dalam puisinya, yakni: kekuatan struktur (5); kekuatan pilihan (2); kekuatan alasan (3); kekuatan evaluasi (1).

The meaning of the figurative or figurative in the form of a metaphor, as the language used in the writing of poetry. A metaphor used to avoid the use of the word monotonous which can lead to saturation of the readers to enjoy works of poetry. Thus, in this study raised the metaphor of death in poems death is contained in the anthology of the poem “Nur Ein Duft und Windeswehen” the works of Hermann Hesse. This study aims to find out about these kinds of the metaphor of death and the forces that support the formation of metaphor in poetry-poetry of death in the poetry anthology Nur Ein Duft, Und Windeswehen. In the process of this research describe the types of metaphors of death and the form of the power contained in the metaphor using the theory of Lakoff and Turner. The type of this research is included in descriptive qualitative research. The source of the data used in this study is poetry-poetry of death in the poetry anthology “Nur Ein Duft und Windeswehen” the works of Hermann Hesse. The Data used in this study in the form of a word or phrase in each of the lines of the poem death that identified the presence of a metaphor of death. The results of this study there are 14 words or sentences that contains the 6 kinds of metaphorical deaths, namely: death is a departure (3); to die is to go to the final destination (4); death is a sleep (3); death is loss of fluid (1); death is liberation (1); and, death is the darkness (2). And there are 4 power of the metaphor utilized Hermann Hesse in the use of the metaphor of death in his poems, namely: the strength of the structure (5); the power of choice (2); the power of reason (3); strength evaluation (1).
