Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses konstruksi verba majemuk leksikal tematik bahasa Jepang dilihat dari sifat verba-verba yang membentuk verba majemuk leksikal tematik tersebut. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga melihat bagaimana kemunculan objek langsung pada kalimat berpredikat verba majemuk leksikal tematik. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merujuk pada teori konstruksi verba majemuk leksikal tematik yang dikemukakan oleh Kageyama Taro.

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk dapat menjabarkan secara rinci proses konstruksi verba majemuk leksikal tematik serta kemunculan objek langsung dalam kalimat berpredikat verba majemuk leksikal tematik. Sumber data pada penelitian ini diambil dari korpus Compound Verb Lexicon yang berisi lebih dari 2.700 verba majemuk leksikal, yang dapat diakses melalui tautan https://vvlexicon.ninjal.ac.jp/en/.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konstruksi verba majemuk leksikal tematik dilihat dari sifat transitif dan intransitif verba yang menyusunnya dapat dibagi ke dalam empat kelompok, yaitu konstruksi verba transitif + verba transitif dan konstruksi verba intransitif + verba transitif yang menghasilkan verba majemuk transitif, konstruksi verba transitif + verba intransitif yang bisa menghasilkan verba majemuk transitif maupun intransitif, dan konstruksi verba intransitif + verba intransitif yang hanya menghasilkan verba majemuk intransitif. Selain itu, kemunculan objek langsung dalam kalimat berpredikat verba majemuk leksikal tematik bahasa Jepang dapat diidentifikasi berdasarkan konstruksi verba penyusunnya, dengan melihat juga pada sifat semantis V1 dan V2 yang menyusunnya.

This study aims to describe the construction process of Japanese thematic lexical compound verbs in terms of the nature of the verbs that form thematic lexical compound verbs. In addition, this research also looks at how the direct object appears in thematic lexical compound verb predicated sentences. The theory used in this research refers to the thematic lexical compound verb theory proposed by Kageyama Taro.

This research uses a qualitative approach, with a qualitative descriptive method to be able to describe in detail the process of thematic lexical compound verb construction as well as the appearance of direct objects in thematic lexical compound verb predicated sentences. The data source in this research is taken from the Compound Verb Lexicon corpus which contains more than 2,700 lexical compound verbs, which can be accessed through the link https://vvlexicon.ninjal.ac.jp/en/.

The results show that thematic lexical compound verb constructions seen from the transitive and intransitive nature of the verbs that compose them can be divided into four groups. Transitive verb + transitive verb constructions and intransitive verb + transitive verb constructions produce transitive compound verbs, transitive verb + intransitive verb constructions can produce both transitive and intransitive compound verbs, and intransitive verb + intransitive verb constructions only produce intransitive compound verbs. In addition, the occurrence of direct objects in Japanese thematic lexical compound verb predicated sentences can be identified based on the construction of the constituent verbs, looking at the semantic properties of V1 and V2 that compose them.
