RELATIONS OF POWER IN THE NOVEL GADIS KRETEK BY RATIH KUMALA: MICHEL FOUCAULT'S CRITICAL DISCOURSE ANALYSIS

Tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan konsep relasi kuasa atas tubuh dan konsep relasi kuasa atas pemikiran menggunakan teori relasi kuasa Michel Foucault serta wujud resistensi terhadap kuasa yang keseluruhan menerapkan analisis wacana kritis Michel Foucault. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-kualitatif. Sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah novel Gadis Kretek karya Ratih Kumala. Data penelitian ini berupa kalimat kutipan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah teknik baca dan catat. Hasil dari penelitian 1) Relasi kuasa atas tubuh yang terbagi menjadi dua aspek, yaitu relasi kuasa atas tubuh sosial dan relasi kuasa atas tubuh seksual. Relasi kuasa tubuh sosial terdapat kaitannya dengan simbol yang mengacu pada masyarakat politik atau industri. Relasi kuasa atas tubuh seksual dapat menjadi objek analisis saat terjadinya aktivitas tubuh. 2) Relasi kuasa atas pemikiran terjadi karena adanya kebenaran serta pengetahuan yang mampu membentuk kekuasaan baru dan menghasilkan efek dari kekuasaan itu sendiri. 3) Wujud resistensi dapat terbentuk jika terdapat fenomena dimana pihak yang dirugikan melakukan suatu perlawanan kepada pihak yang merugikannya.

The purpose of this study is to describe the concept of power relations over the body and the concept of power relations over thoughts using Michel Foucault's power relations theory and the form of resistance to power which as a whole applies Michel Foucault's critical discourse analysis. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The source of the data in this study was the novel Girl Kretek by Ratih Kumala. The research data is in the form of quotation sentences. The data collection technique used in this study is the reading and writing technique. The results of the study 1) Power relations over the body which are divided into two aspects, namely power relations over social bodies and power relations over sexual bodies. The power relations of social bodies have something to do with symbols that refer to political or industrial society. Power relations over the sexual body can be the object of analysis when bodily activity occurs. 2) Power relations over thoughts occur because of the existence of truth and knowledge that are able to form new powers and produce effects of the powers themselves. 3) The form of resistance can be formed if there is a phenomenon where the aggrieved party puts up a fight against the aggrieved party.
