Latar belakang dalam penelitian ini adalah berangkat dari kurikulum merdeka belajar, dari pembelajaran daring dan blanded learning, belum adanya media pembelajaran IPS yang menyajikan materi secara terintegratif. Serta minimnya media pembelajaran IPS berbasis digital dan android. Kendala lain minimnya sumber belajar yang valid, susah dalam memahami konsep dan banyak istilah asing dalam pembelajaran IPS. Tujuan dari penelitian yaitu menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan pengembangan kamus digital IPS untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa tingkat SMP/MTs. Jenis penelitian ini adalah R&D (Research and development) yang menghasilkan suatu produk berupa media kamus digital IPS. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu mengadopsi pengembangan dari Borg & Gall. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa lembar angket validasi, angket respon siswa, angket respon guru, lembar observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan tes. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif.
Uji coba produk dilakukan di tiga sekolah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan kamus digital IPS dinyatakan valid berdasarkan pemerolehan total skor 88,18 dari validitas materi, 100,00 validitas media dengan kategori keduanya sangat valid. Reliabilitas memperoleh skor 0,801 dan 0,922 dengan interpretasi kategori tinggi. Sedangkan kepraktisan ditinjau dari keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, respon peserta didik, dan respon guru tergolong kategori sangat baik (sangat praktis). Untuk keefektifan berdasarkan N-Gain Pada uji coba lapangan utama menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata N-Gain kelas eksperimen (menggunakan kamus digital IPS) adalah sebesar 61,2 termasuk ke dalam kategori “Cukup Efektif”, Sementara, nilai rata-rata N-Gain kelas kontrol (pembelajaran konvensional) sebesar 33,5 termasuk dalam kategori “tidak efektif”. Pada uji coba lapangan operasional menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata N-Gain kelas eksperimen (menggunakan kamus digital IPS) adalah sebesar 72, 4 termasuk ke dalam kategori “Cukup Efektif”, Sementara, nilai rata-rata N-Gain kelas kontrol (pembelajaran konvensional) sebesar 23,6 termasuk dalam kategori “tidak efektif”. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan kamus digital IPS cukup efektif dan berpengaruh kepada hasil belajar serta pemahaman konsep siswa tingkat SMP/MTs.

The background in this research is departing from the independent learning curriculum, from bold learning and blended learning, there is no social studies learning media that presents material in an integrated manner. And the lack of digital and android-based social studies learning media. Another obstacle is the lack of valid learning resources, difficulty in understanding concepts and many foreign terms in social studies learning. The purpose of the research is to analyze and describe the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the development of a social science digital dictionary to improve students' understanding of concepts at the SMP/MTs level. This type of research is R&D (Research and Development) which produces a product in the form of an IPS digital dictionary media. The design used in this research is to adopt the development of Borg & Gall. The instruments in this study were validation questionnaire sheets, student response questionnaires, teacher response questionnaires, observation sheets, interviews, documentation, and tests. The analytical technique used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Product trials were conducted in three schools. Results Based on the research, it was shown that the development of the social studies digital dictionary was declared valid based on obtaining a total score of 88.18 from material validity, 100.00 media validity with both categories being very valid. Reliability scores 0.801 and 0.922 with a high category interpretation. While practicality in terms of the implementation of learning, student responses, and teacher responses are classified as very good category (very practical). For effectiveness based on N-Gain In the main field trial, it showed that the average value of N-Gain in the experimental class (using the IPS digital dictionary) was 61.2 which was included in the category of "Effective Enough", Meanwhile, the average value of N-Gain The control class gain (conventional learning) of 33.5 is included in the "ineffective" category. In the operational field trial, it showed that the average N-Gain value of the experimental class (using the IPS digital dictionary) was 72.4 which was included in the "Effective Enough" category. Meanwhile, the average N-Gain value of the control class (learning conventional) of 23.6 is included in the "ineffective" category. So it can be said that the use of a digital social studies dictionary is quite effective and has an effect on learning outcomes and understanding of students' concepts at the SMP/MTs level.
