Petak umpet merupakan salah satu jenis permainan tradisional yang ada di Indonesia. Namun seiring berkembangnya zaman, permainan petak umpet perlahan mulai menghilang. Banyak sekali faktor yang mempengaruhi kurangnya eksistensi dari permainan petak umpet, seperti kemajuan teknologi. Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut koreografer mengangkat topik permainan petak umpet untuk mengenalkan kepada generasi muda tentang permainan petak umpet.

Dalam karya tari Skit koreografer menggunakan teori koreografi oleh Alma Hawkins (1990:20) sebagai acuan dalam pembentukan karya. Koreografer juga menggunakan konsep Homo Ludens (1938) yang mengatakan bahwa permainan tradisional merupakan permainan yang akan memasukkan budaya dan karakter terhadap pelakunya. Dengan menggunakan teori dan juga konsep dalam penggarapan, koreografer telah mewujudkan permainan tradisional dalam bentuk karya tari dan sesuai dengan konsep yang telah dirancang. Fokus isi dalam karya tari Skit merupakan wujud proses memainkan permainan tradisional petak umpet yang dikemas dalam sajian karya tari. Fokus bentuk dalam karya ini tipe tari dramatik, koreografer memilih tipe tari dramatik untuk memunculkan kekuatan-kekuatan emosional yang bervariasi dalam karya tari ini

Bentuk karya dalam upaya mewujudkan tema tentang permainan tradisional petak umpet dalam karya tari Skit menggunakan unsur pendukung seperti, elemen gerak, tata cahaya, property, iringan, tata rias dan busana. Koreografer juga memilih penari yang duduk dibangku sekolah dasar agar dapat membantu memunculkan karakter anak anak. Property yang digunakan juga memiliki beberapa makna seperti wujud dari respon sosial, tempat bersembunyi, dan menjadi benteng permainan. Medium yang dirancang telah menjadi bentuk karya tari yang berjudul Skit dengan menggunakan tipe tari dramatik.

Hide and seek is one type of traditional game in Indonesia. The game of hide and seek in ancient times was often played by children. But with the development of the times, the game of hide and seek slowly began to disappear. There are so many factors that influence the lack of existence of the hide and seek game itself. The closest example to our lives, technological advances that have now provided many benefits in our lives. Based on this phenomenon, the choreographer raised a topic of hide and seek games to introduce the younger generation to the game of hide and seek. The focus of the content in Scyth's dance works is a manifestation of the process of playing traditional games of hide and seek packaged in dance works. The choreographer will bring up problems and solutions in the traditional game of hide and seek through Scythian dance works. The focus of the form in this work is dramatic dance type, the choreographer chooses dramatic dance type to bring out the varied emotional forces in this dance work In Skit's dance work.

Choreographer uses choreography theory by Alma Hawkins (1990: 20) as a reference in the formation of the work. The choreographer also used the concept of Homo Ludens (1938) which said that traditional games are games that will incorporate culture and character against the perpetrators. By using theories and concepts in cultivation, choreographers have created traditional games in the form of dance works and in accordance with the concepts that have been designed.

The form of work in an effort to realize the theme of the traditional game of hide and seek in Skit dance works uses supporting elements such as movement elements, lighting, property, accompaniment, makeup and clothing. Choreographers also choose dancers who are in elementary school to help bring out the character of children. The property used also has several meanings such as a form of social response, a place to hide, and being a fortress of the game. The medium designed has become a form of dance work entitled Skit using dramatic dance types.
