The Development of Learning Tools Based on STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) to Train Students’ Creative Thinking Sklills
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran berupa RPP, LKPD, dan instrumen tes keterampilan berpikir kreatif berbasis STEM untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif peserta didik pada materi jaringan tumbuhan. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran dilakukan menggunakan model 4-D (dalam penelitian ini hanya sampai tahap Develop) dengan rancangan uji coba perangkat pembelajaran one group pretest-posttest design. Subjek penelitian adalah 61 orang siswa kelas XI MIPA SMAK St.Hendrikus Surabaya tahun pelajaran 2020/2021. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah validasi, observasi, tes, dan angket. Produk yang telah dikembangkan divalidasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli media. Hasil validasi berupa skor yang dianalisis secara kuantitatif, sedangkan komentar dan saran dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) validitas RPP (3,76), lembar kerja peserta didik (4,00), dan tes keterampilan berpikir kreatif (pre-test 3,78 dan post-test 3,42) dikategorikan valid. (2) kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran berkategori baik berdasarkan keterlaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran sebesar 85,71-100%, serta aktivitas peserta didik sebesar 96.9% sesuai aspek pengamatan; (3) keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran yang digunakan dikategorikan efektif berdasarkan rata-rata N-gain 0,61 dengan kategori sedang, serta sebagian besar peserta didik (81%) memberikan respon positif terhadap proses pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran berbasis STEM layak digunakan untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif peserta didik.
The objective of this research is to produce the learning tools such as lesson plan, students worksheet, and creative thinking skill test instrument based on STEM to train students’ creative thinking skills on the plant tissue material. The learning tools was developed using 4-D models (in this research until develop stage) and using one group pre-test post-test design to obtain the data improvement of students learning outcomes. The subject of the research was learning tools based on STEM. The data were collected from 61 students of science class at XI grade in academic year of 2020/2021. The technique of collecting data in this study were validation, observation, test, and questionnaire. Products that have been developed are validated by material experts and media experts. The results of the validation are scores that are analyzed quantitatively, while comments and suggestions are analyzed qualitatively. The result show that (1) the validity score of the lesson plan (3,76), student worksheet (4,00), and creative thinking skill test (pre-test: 3,78 and post-test: 3,42) were categorized as valid; (2) the practically of learning tools based on the learning feasibility were good category based on the implementation of learning activities of 85,71-100%, and students’ activities of 96,9% according to the aspects of observation; (3) the effectiveness of the learning tools used was categorized as effective based on the achievement of N-gain average score 0,61 and the majority of student (81%) gave a positive response to learning process. The conclusion of this study based on those result, the learning tools based on STEM is appropriate to train students’ creative thinking skills on plant tissue topic.
