The focus of this
research is syntax. In this research, using the theory from Roni (2017), the
types of words that can be positioned as predicates are verbs and i-adjectives,
while the types of words that cannot be positioned as predicates are
na-adjectives and nouns. As well as the theory of gengogaku kenkyuu kaihen in Yuka Kuroda and Tatsuya Izuha (2008)
which is divided into four parts, namely the use of the target, the use of the
determined, the use of the cause, and the use of the place. The purpose of research was to determine the type of predicate and
the role of the case
particle de (で) in Japanese sentences. This research is
qualitative research because the results of the data are not in the form of
percentages and the data is analyzed using the note-taking method. The results
of this reseach are that there are four types of predicates,
namely verbs, nouns, i-adjectives, and na-adjectives, as well as the role of the particle de (で) is 1) the
use of targets is vehicle, movement of objects accompanied
by psychological movement, materials, organization, and tools; 2) the use of determined
is express conditions,
abstract conditions, amounts, and qualifications; 3) the use of causes that
express natural phenomena, mobility, problems, and orders; and 4) the use of
place which states the place, spatial,
association, and organization.
