Warga Desa Pakong mayoritas adalah muslim didukung dengan kondisi sosial budaya hampir diseluruh Desa Pakong terdapat pondok-pondok kecil serta pendidikan yang bernuansa Islam. Akan tetapi di tengah masyarakat Desa Pakong terdapat kelompok Wahabi. Pada tanggal 15 Agustus terjadi kasus di Desa Pakong yaitu demo yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Pakong dengan cara perwakilan dari masing-masing Dusun sekitar 10 orang datang ke rumah Kepala Desa Pakong untuk melakukan demonstrasi supaya Kepala Desa Pakong tidak memberikan izin terhadap Kelompok Wahabi untuk melakukan pengajian atau ceramah bertempat di lapangan Desa Pakong. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan 1) gambaran sikap dan perilaku kelompok Wahabi di Dusun Masaran Desa Pakong Kecamatan Modung Kabupaten Bangkalan 2) mendeskripsikan persepsi masyarakat terhadap sikap dan perilaku kelompok Wahabi di Dusun Masaran Desa Pakong Kecamatan Modung Kabupaten Bangkalan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain eksploratif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara mendalam. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara interaktif dan berlangsung secara terus menerus sampai tuntas sehingga datanya jenuh. Mulai dari reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua informan sepakat berpandangan 1) Sikap dan perilaku kelompok Wahabi di Dusun Masaran tidak pernah beradaptasi dengan lingkungan masyarakat Desa Pakong, tidak pernah bantu-bantu ataupun menghadiri kegiatan sosial seperti kerja bakti, takziah bahkan jika ada acara pernikahan tidak datang kecuali masih ada ikatan keluarga dan jika datang buwuh atau takziah menunggu suasana sepi. Kelompok Wahabi juga tidak pernah menghadiri kegiatan keagamaan seperti pengajian Desa, Maulid Nabi, tahlil. Kelompok Wahabi hanya berkumpul dengan orang yang sama pemahamannya dan memberikan uang ketika melakukan kegiatan kahatamab Quran. 2) Masyarakat Dusun Masaran Desa Pakong berpandangan negatif terhadap sikap dan perilaku kelompok Wahabi di Dusun Masaran menurut masyarakat Masaran kelompok Wahabi di Masaran tidak mau berkumpul karena berbeda pemahaman dengan masyarakat Pakong. Kelompok Wahabi di Masaran tidak termasuk kelompok radikal yang melakukan pemaksaan dan kekerasan secara terang-terangan tetapi kelompok Wahabi yang memberikan uang ketika khataman Quran dianggap cara untuk mempengaruhi orang lain supaya ikut Wahabi atau menyuap orang lain supaya ikut Wahabi.

The majority of Pakong villagers are Muslims supported by socio-cultural conditions in almost all Pakong villages, there are small huts and Islamic education. However, there are Wahabi groups in the village of Pakong. On August 15 there was a case in Pakong Village, a demonstration conducted by the Pakong community by means of representatives from each hamlet of about 10 people coming to the house of Pakong Village Head to demonstrate so that the Village Head Pakong did not give permission for the Wahabi Group to conduct recitals or lecture took place in the village of Pakong.
The purpose of this study was to describe 1) a description of the attitudes and behavior of Wahabi groups in Masaran Hamlet Pakong Village, Modung Sub-District, Bangkalan District 2) describing community perceptions of Wahabi group attitudes and behavior in Masaran Hamlet, Pakong Village, Modung District, Bangkalan District. This study uses a qualitative approach with explorative design. The technique of collecting data using in-depth interviews. Data analysis techniques are carried out interactively and take place continuously until complete so that the data is saturated. Starting from data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.
The results showed that all informants agreed to view 1) The attitude and behavior of Wahabi groups in Masaran Hamlet had never adapted to the environment of the Desa Pakong community, had never helped or attended social activities such as community service, takziah even if there was a wedding not coming except still there is a family bond and if it comes buwuh or takziah waiting for a quiet atmosphere. Wahabi groups also never attended religious activities such as the Village Recitation, Maulid Nabi, tahlil. Wahabi groups only gather with people who have the same understanding and give money when doing Kahatamab Quran activities.
2) The Masaran Desa Pakong Hamlet community has a negative view of the attitude and behavior of the Wahabi group in Masaran Hamlet according to the Masaran community, the Wahabi group in Masaran did not want to gather because of a different understanding with the community Pakong. The Wahabi group in Masaran was not among the radical groups which carried out blatant coercion and violence but Wahabi groups that provided money when the Khataman Quran was considered a way to influence other people to join Wahabi or bribe others to join the Wahhabis.
