THE INFLUENCE OF RESILIENCE AND OPTIMISM ON CAREER ADAPTABILITY IN STUDENTS OF THE ELECTRICITY ENGINEERING EXPERTISE PROGRAM SMKN 1 SIDOARJO
Lulusan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) masih bingung saat memilih karir, tidak mencari informasi tentang karir yang mereka inginkan, dan belum mempersiapkan diri untuk karir mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki pengaruh resilience dan optimism terhadap career adaptability pada siswa SMK program keahlian teknik ketenagalistrikan. Pengumpulan data menggunakan skala career adaptability (12 item, α = 0.821), skala resilience (25 item, α = 0.932) dan skala optimisme (7 item, α= 0.844). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif tipe survei. Populasinya adalah seluruh siswa-siswi SMK Negeri 1 Sidoarjo. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 103 siswa. Metode Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa tingkat resilience, optimism, dan career adaptability pada siswa termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Hasil analisis path coefficient menunjukkan bahwa baik resilience maupun optimism memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap career adaptability siswa SMK program teknik ketenagalistrikan SMK Negeri 1 Sidoarjo secara parsial. Nilai R Square menunjukkan bahwa career adaptability dipengaruhi oleh resilience dan optimism sebesar 59.1%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara resilience dan optimism terhadap career adaptability secara simultan.
Vocational High School (SMK) graduates are still confused when choosing a career, do not seek information about their desired career, and have not prepared themselves for their career. This study aims to investigate the influence of resilience and optimism on career adaptability in vocational students in the electricity engineering program. Data collection used the career adaptability scale (12 items, α = 0.821), resilience scale (25 items, α = 0.932) and optimism scale (7 items, α = 0.844). This study uses a quantitative approach with survey research methods. The population is all students of SMK Negeri 1 Sidoarjo. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a total of 103 respondents. The Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method was used to analyze the data. The results of descriptive analysis show that the level of resilience, optimism, and career adaptability in students is in the moderate category. The results of path coefficient analysis show that both resilience and optimism have a positive and significant influence on the career adaptability of students of the electricity engineering program of SMK Negeri 1 Sidoarjo partially. The R Square value shows that career adaptability is influenced by resilience and optimism by 59.1%. Thus it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant influence between resilience and optimism on career adaptability simultaneously.
