KEEFEKTIFAN KALIMAT TEKS EKSPLANASI KARANGAN SISWA
THE EFFECTIVENESS OF STUDENT EXPLANATION TEXT SENTENCES
Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan keefektifan kalimat dan penggunaan ciri kebahasaan kalimat teks eksplanasi karangan siswa. Data penelitian ini berupa kalimat-kalimat dalam tiga puluh lima teks eksplanasi karangan siswa. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah teks eksplanasi karangan siswa kelas XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 6 Surabaya. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik dokumentasi dan catat. Kemudian, teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif yang meliputi identifikasi, klasifikasi, dan analisis deskripsi.
Berdasarkan penganalisisan data, teks eksplanasi karangan siswa ditemukan keefektifan kalimat. Keefektifan kalimat tersebut ditandai dengan terpenuhinya ciri kalimat efektif. Ciri kalimat efektif yang ditemukan yaitu kesatuan, kehematan, kepararelan, kelogisan, kepaduan, ketepatan, dan kevariasian. Penggunaan ciri kebahasaan teks eksplanasi karangan siswa ditemukan penggunaan bahasa lugas dan baku, kata ganti non persona, peristilahan teknis, konjungsi bermakna proses, variasi kata kerja aktif dan pasif, kalimat interogatif, dan kalimat berita. Berdasrkan hasil analisis, dapat dikatakan penggunaan kalimat efektif dan penggunaan ciri kebahasaan dalam teks eksplanasi karangan siswa sudah cukup bagus.
The study aims to describe the effectiveness of sentences and the use of descriptive sentences in students' explanatory texts. The research data consists of sentences from thirty-five student explanation texts. This study is a qualitative descriptive research. The source of data for this research is class XI-3 of Surabaya High School, Science Department. The data collection technique used in this study is documentation and recording. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis, which includes identification, classification, and description analysis.
Based on the analysis of the data, the effectiveness of the sentence was found in the explanation text written by the students. The effectiveness of the sentence is marked by the fulfillment of the characteristics of an effective sentence. The characteristics of effective sentences found are unity, thriftiness, parallelism, logic, coherence, accuracy, and variety. The use of the language features in students' explanation texts was found in the use of straightforward and standard language, non-personal pronouns, technical terminology, process-meaning conjunctions, variations of active and passive verbs, interrogative sentences, and news sentences. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be said that the use of effective sentences and the use of language features in explanation texts written by students is quite good.
