Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran sains berbasis kearifan lokal (insets) yang valid, praktis, dan efektif sehingga layak untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan model instructional design model yang terdiri dari 6 tahap, yaitu: 1) analisis kebutuhan, 2) desain dan pengembangan prototype, 3) Validasi, 4) Ujicoba prototype, 5) evaluasi, 6) revisi. Subyek pada uji coba terbatas dilaksanakan di satu sekolah yaitu kelas XI SMA Negeri Taekas berjumlah 19 siswa. Uji coba luas dilaksanakan di tiga sekolah yaitu 1) SMA Negeri Noemuti berjumlah 31 siswa, 2) SMA Negeri Insana Tengah berjumlah 20 siswa dan 3) SMA Negeri 3 Kefamenanu berjumlah 23 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilaksanakan melalui dokumentasi, tes, dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif, n-gain dan uji t berpasangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) validitas model insets sangat valid, (2) kepraktisan model insets dengan kategori baik. (3) model insets secara efektif dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Selain itu selama implementasi model insets pada sikap sains seperti teliti, jujur, dan tanggung jawab berada pada kategori baik. Sedangkan perilaku siswa pada aspek percaya diri, peduli, dan menghargai pendapat berada pada kategori baik. Dengan demikian model pembelajaran insets yang dikembangkan layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA.

This research aims to develop a science learning model based on local wisdom (insets) that is valid, practical and effective so that it is suitable for improving high school students' critical thinking skills. This research was carried out using an instructional design model which consists of 6 stages, namely: 1) needs analysis, 2) prototype design and development, 3) validation, 4) prototype testing, 5) evaluation, 6) revision. The subjects in the limited trial were carried out in one school, namely class XI Taekas State High School, totaling 19 students. Extensive trials were carried out in three schools, namely 1) Noemuti State High School with 31 students, 2) Central Insana State High School with 20 students and 3) Kefamenanu 3 State High School with 23 students. Data collection was carried out through documentation, tests and interviews. Data analysis techniques are quantitative and qualitative descriptive, n-gain and paired t tests. The research results show: (1) the validity of the insets model is very valid, (2) the practicality of the insets model is in the good category. (3) the insets model can effectively improve students' critical thinking skills. Apart from that, during the implementation of the inset model, scientific attitudes such as thoroughness, honesty and responsibility were in the good category. Meanwhile, student behavior in the aspects of self-confidence, caring and respect for opinions is in the good category
Thus, the inset learning model developed is suitable for use to improve high school students' critical thinking skills.
