Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeksripsikan proses dan kualitas media pembelajaran menulis berbasis literasi visual untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas II sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN Jemur Wonosari I/417 Surabaya pada tahun pelajaran 2018/2019.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan. Pengembangan media menggunakan model pengembangan model 4-D (Four-D Model) yang memiliki empat tahapan di antaranya define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi, angket, dan soal tes.
Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa proses pengembangan media telah sesuai langkah-langkah pengembangan model 4-D. Kevalidan media dan materi masing-masing mendapatkan persentase sebesar 94% dan 100% dengan kriteria “Sangat Valid”. Kepraktisan media didasarkan respon guru dan siswa mendapatkan persentase 93,3% dengan kriteria “Sangat Praktis”. Keefektifan media membandingkan hasil pretest dan posttest menggunakan uji t dua sampel kecil yang saling berhubungan. Hasil t hitung sebesar -9,4 kemudian dibandingkan dengan nilai pada t tabel yaitu 2,06390. Oleh karena -t hitung < -t tabel (-9,4 < -2,06390) maka hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis nihil (Ho) ditolak. Ada perbedaan hasil belajar siswa antara sebelum dengan sesudah menggunakan media pembelajaran menulis berbasis literasi visual.

This study aims to describe the process and quality of writing learning media based on visual literacy to improve critical thinking ability of grade II elementary school students. This research was conducted at SDN Jemur Wonosari I/417 Surabaya in the 2018/2019 academic year.
This research is a development research. Media development uses a 4-D model development model (Four-D Model) which has four stages including define, design, develop, and disseminate. The instruments used were validation sheets, questionnaires, and test questions.
The results of the study show that the media development process is in accordance with the steps of developing a 4-D model. The validity of the media and material each gets a percentage of 94% and 100% with the criteria of "Very Valid". The practicality of the media is based on the response of teachers and students to get a percentage of 93.3% with the criteria "Very Practical". The effectiveness of the media compares the results of the pretest and posttest using the t test of two interconnected small samples. The result of t count is -9.4 then compared with the value at t table which is 2.06390. Because -t counts <-t table (-9.4 <-2,06390) then the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. There are differences in student learning outcomes between before and after using media learning writing based on visual literacy.
