Beasiswa Peningkatan Prestasi Akademik (PPA) adalah beasiswa pendidikan dari Kementerian Pendidikan Nasional yang ditujukan bagi mahasiswa yang tengah berkuliah di perguruan tinggi, tak terkecuali di UNESA. Mekanisme pemilihan penerima beasiswa oleh pihak penyeleksi beasiswa PPA FMIPA UNESA yaitu dengan mengurutkan pendaftar sesuai bobot nilai, dari yang tertinggi hingga terendah. Bobot tersebut dihitung berdasarkan beberapa kriteria, yaitu kriteria prestasi, kegiatan organisasi, IPK, penghasilan orangtua, tingkat semester, dan level UKT. Bobot tiap kriteria dinilai secara diskrit dan ditentukan secara terpisah (tidak saling berkaitan dengan kriteria lain) sehingga dibutuhkan suatu metode yang dapat melibatkan beberapa kriteria. Salah satu metode yang dapat digunakan adalah Fuzzy Analytic Network Process (FANP). Metode FANP adalah penggabungan antara metode fuzzy (triangular fuzzy number) dan Analytic Network Process (ANP). Metode FANP mampu mengubah penilaian yang bersifat diskrit dari pihak penyeleksi beasiswa mengenai prioritas kriteria menjadi suatu nilai bobot pada penentuan beasiswa dimana keterkaitan antar kriteria juga diperhitungkan. Metode fuzzy digunakan untuk mengaitkan antar kriteria melalui triangular fuzzy number (TFN) dan diolah menggunakan Analytic Network Process (ANP). Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan FANP, diperoleh bobot tiap kriteria dalam penentuan penerima beasiswa PPA di FMIPA UNESA, yaitu penghasilan orangtua sebesar 24,783%, bobot prestasi sebesar 18,802%, level UKT sebesar 16,417%, kegiatan organisasi sebesar 16,414%, IPK sebesar 14,148%, dan tingkat semester sebesar 9,436%. Hasil bobot tersebut digunakan untuk proses seleksi penerima beasiswa, dimana data telah dihaluskan menjadi skala [0,1] dan didapat hasil simulasi seleksi penerima Beasiswa Peningkatan Prestasi Akademik (Beasiswa-PPA).

Improving Academic Achievement Scholarship is an educational scholarship from the Ministry of National Education which intended for students who are studying at universities, including UNESA. According to the mechanism of selecting scholarship grantee, the scholarship selection of FMIPA UNESA has sorted grantee by weight value, from the highest to the lowest. These weights are calculated based on several criteria, those are student’s achievements, organizational activities, GPA, parent income, semester level, and tuition level. When making decision, one criterion is determined separately by other criteria, so that we need a method that can involve several criteria. One method that can be used is Fuzzy Analytic Network Process (FANP). FANP is a combination of fuzzy method (triangular fuzzy number) and Analytic Network Process (ANP). FANP is able to change the discrete judgment of scholarship selectors regarding the priority criteria to be weight value in determining scholarship grantee, which consider from correlation between each criteria. Fuzzy is used to associate each criteria through triangular fuzzy number (TFN) which will be processed using Analytic Network Process (ANP). Based on FANP calculation, the researcher got weight of each criterion, those are 24,783% parent income's weight, 18,802% achievement's weight, 16,417% tuition level's weight, 16,414% organizational activities' weight, 14,148%, GPA's weight, and 9,436% semester level's weight. Furthermore, data of scholarship grantee has been smoothed to scale [0,1], so that the researcher got the results of the scholarship grantee selection simulation.
