This study aimed to determine the effect of
interpersonal skills, intrapersonal skills, suprapersonal skills, and career adaptability
on the employability skills of Aeronautical Polytechnic cadets. This research
was carried out in seven official schools under the Civil Aviation Human
Resources Development Center (PPSDMPU) in January-June 2023.
The population in this study was all cadets in seven
official schools under the Center for Human Resource Development of
Transportation. The sample of this study amounted to 300 cadets who were
determined using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques consisted of
questionnaires. Data were collected for 2 months from March to April 2023. The
data analysis technique in this study used a sequential equation model (SEM),
which
consisted of measurement models and structural
models. Analysis of measurement models produced research constructs that fit
with the data. Structural models describe causal or predictive relationships
between exogenous and endogenous variables. Exogenous variables consisted of
intrapersonal skills, interpersonal skills, suprapersonal skills, and career
adaptability. Endogenous variable was employability skill. Structural model
testing used the SEM PLS Program.
From structural model analysis, it showed that the
model fits significantly with the data, with a significant estimated standard
regression coefficient (SRW) (p<0.001). The results showed: (1) there was a
significant positive influence between Intrapersonal Skills on Career
Adaptability; (2) there is a significant positive influence between Interpersonal
Skills and Career Adaptability; (3) there is a significant positive influence
between Suprapersonal Skills
and Career Adaptability; (4) there is a significant
positive influence between Career Adaptability and Employability Skills; (6)
there is a significant positive influence between Intrapersonal Skills on
Employability Skills through mediator Career Adaptability; (7) there is a
significant positive influence between Interpersonal Skills on Employability
Skills through mediator Career Adaptability; (8) there is a significant
positive influence between Suprapersonal Skills on Employability Skills through
Career Adaptability mediators. The research implies that it is recommended to
lecturers in teaching not only to pay attention to academic (cognitive) aspects
but also to other aspects (intrapersonal, interpersonal, suprapersonal,
employability, and career adaptability).
Key words: interpersonal skills, intrapersonal
skills, suprapersonal skills, career adaptability, employability skills
