Trawas District has various
attractive tourist attractions for potential tourists, but promotional media
are inadequate and incomplete. This study aims to develop SIWITRA WebGIS as a
promotional tool to introduce tourist attractions in Trawas District. This study
aims to: 1) determine the results of the SIWITRA WebGIS application validation
test, 2) determine the results of the SIWITRA WebGIS application usability test
to provide information on the distribution of tourist attractions in Trawas
District, and 3) develop the SIWITRA WebGIS application as an appropriate and
accurate promotional tool.
This study uses the waterfall
development (R&D) method, a software development method used to produce new
products or improve existing ones. The research data consists of primary data
including interviews, surveys, and direct observations at the Trawas District
office. Secondary data include previous research, journals, and the Trawas
District office's tourism website. The population is 50 tourists, with an age
range of 18–30 years. Data analysis in this study used a Likert scale.
The results of this study
indicate that the validation test results for GIS experts obtained a score of
90 and for media experts obtained a score of 94, while the usability test
results for the effectiveness aspect obtained a score of 93 and the efficiency
aspect obtained a score of 94.50. Meanwhile, the stages of developing the
SIWITRA WebGIS application start from analysis, design, coding, testing, and
maintenance. Based on the results, it can be concluded that SIWITRA WebGIS is
included in the very effective and efficient category.
