PENERAPAN MODEL INKUIRI TERBIMBING TERHADAP PENINGKATAN LITERASI SAINS SISWA SMP NEGERI 1 KEPOHBARU
IMPLEMENTATION OF GUIDED INQUIRY MODEL ON THE IMPROVEMENT OF SCIENCE LITERACY OF STUDENTS IN SMP NEGERI 1 KEPOHBARU
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan model pembelajaran Inkuiri Terbimbing dalam meningkatkan literasi sains siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP). Literasi sains menjadi keterampilan penting di era modern, di mana siswa dituntut untuk memahami konsep ilmiah dan mampu menerapkan pengetahuan sains dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun, hasil asesmen internasional seperti PISA dan TIMSS menunjukkan bahwa literasi sains siswa Indonesia masih tergolong rendah. Oleh karena itu, model pembelajaran Inkuiri Terbimbing digunakan sebagai strategi untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam proses pembelajaran.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest posttest group. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari siswa kelas VII SMP. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes literasi sains, observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, dan angket respons siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang belajar menggunakan model Inkuiri Terbimbing mengalami peningkatan signifikan dalam literasi sains. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model in improving the scientific literacy of junior high school students. Scientific literacy is an essential skill in the modern era, where students are expected to understand scientific concepts and apply scientific knowledge in everyday life. However, international assessments such as PISA and TIMSS indicate that Indonesian students' scientific literacy remains relatively low. Therefore, the guided inquiry learning model is employed as a strategy to enhance students' active engagement in the learning process. This study employs an experimental method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consists of seventh-grade junior high school students. Data were collected through scientific literacy tests, classroom observation of learning implementation, and student response questionnaires. The results show that students who learned using the guided inquiry model experienced a significant improvement in scientific literacy. This model helps students gain a deeper understanding of concepts, develop critical thinking skills, and encourage active participation in learning. Additionally, students responded positively to the implementation of this model, as they felt more challenged and motivated throughout the learning process.
