Critical
thinking skill is important
to train students solving an actual problem. Problem based learning is a learning model
that can develop critical thinking skill by producing information based on life
experiences
and actual problem . T his study aimed to produce a valid, practical and effective student
worksheet based on problem based learning in the environmental changes material
to trained critical thinking skill for 10th grade students. This
study was used 4D model that consists of define, design, develop, and
disseminate stages. However, the disseminate stage was not contributed in this
study. The development stage of student worksheet was organized in Biology
Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, State University of
Surabaya . Limited
trials was conducted to the sixteen 10th grade students of SMA
Negeri 1 Mojokerto. Collecting data methods was validation, observation, tests,
and students response questionnaire result. The results showed that the
validity of student worksheet based on problem based learning was acquired overall mode in a valid category. The
practicability of students worksheet was measured of 95,13% belong to the very
good category, and the performance of critical thinking skill amounts 90,77%
showed to the good category. The effectiveness of students
worksheet could be viewed by the completeness in the result of students
learning which amounts 87,5% in very completed category, thus the percentage of
learning indicators was amount 90,63% which also in very completed category.
The percentage of critical thinking skill achievement was 8 1 , 5 % with the highest category and the percentage of students response
questionnaire result was 95,31% which showed as the highest category. The
result can be concluded that student worksheet based on problem based learning
in environmental changes material to train critical thinking skill were valid,
practical, and effective to used in teaching and learning process.
