FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI EKSISTENSI INDUSTRI GERABAH DI DESA RENDENG KECAMATAN MALO KABUPATEN BOJONEGORO

Desa Rendeng Kecamatan Malo Kabupaten Bojonegoro adalah satu-satunya sentra industri gerabah di Kabupaten Bojonegoro yang masih tetap eksis sampai sekarang meskipun mengalami berbagai gempuran zaman, serta persaingan dengan industri gerabah dari kota atau kabupaten lain yang sama-sama memilki kualitas yang bagus berdasarkan hal tersebut diatas penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi eksistensi industri gerabah di Desa Rendeng Kecamatan Malo Kabupaten Bojonegoro, strategi eksis pengrajin industri gerabah serta kondisi lingkungan fisik bahan baku tanah liat di bantaran sungai Bengawan Solo dan pegunungan kapur lahan milik perhutani.

Jenis penelitian ini adalah survei. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di Desa Rendeng Kecamatan Malo Kabupaten Bojonegoro, populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh pengrajin industri gerabah yaitu 117 pengrajin gerabah. Jumlah sampel yang diambil sebanyak 50% dari total pengrajin yaitu sebanyak 59 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan mengunakan proporsional random sampling, pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, angket/kuisioner dan dokumentasi, teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif denagn prosentase sederhana.

Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor eksistensi industri gerabah adalah : a) bahan baku masih tergolong mudah didapatkan b) modal sebagian besar berasal dari modal pribadi pengrajin c) tenaga kerja kebanyakan berasal dari dalam desa sendiri d) pemasaran dengan cara menjual barang melalui perantara atau pesanan e) pendapatan pengrajin tergolong cukup sebesar Rp. 600.000 – 1.500.000. Untuk strategi eksis yang dipakai oleh pengrajin yaitu strategi jaringan dengan memanfaatkan jaringan pemasaran melalui perantara atau pengepul untuk menjaga eksistensi industri gerabah, kondisi lingkungan fisik bahan baku tanah liat di bantaran sungai Bengawan Solo dan pegunungan kapur lahan milik perhutani mengalami erosi dan longsor sehingga menghilangkan 2 lapisan tanah yaitu lapisan tanah atas (topsoil) dan lapisan tanah bawah (subsoil) yang akan berpengaruh pada kesuburan tanah. Akan tetapi masyarakat tetap memiliki upaya menjaga kondisi lingkungan fisik agar tetap terjaga salah satunya dengan mempertahankan tradisi mengambil tanah liat secukupnya dengan tetap mengunakan cara tradisional dan melakukan penanaman pohon.

FACTORS WHICH AFFECT THE EXISTENCE OF POTTERY INDUSTRY IN RENDENG VILLAGE, MALO SUB –DISTRICT, BOJONEGORO REGENCY

Rendeng village, Malo Sub-district, Bojonegoro Regency is the only one gerabah industry in Bojonegoro regency which still exist until now,despite experiencing various epoch attacks, and competition from pottery industry on another cities and regencies that have the same quality. Based on the factors above, this study aim to know the affecting factors of pottery industry existence in Rendeng Village. Malo Kecamatan, Bojonegoro Regency, pottery industry existence strategy, and physical  enviroment condition  of clay composition on bantaran of Bengawan Solo river and lime mountains of Perhutani’s.

                This type of research is survey. The location for this research is on Rendeng Village, Malo Sub-district, Bojonegoro Regency, this research population is all of 117 Earthenware craftsmen. The amount of samples taken is 50% from the amount of all pottery maker, 59 respondent in  total. The sampling method used on this research “Proportional Random Sampling, data collection done with observation, interview, questionaire, and documentation. The data analysis technique used on this research is quantitative descriptive with simple percentage

                The result of ths research indicate that the factors of pottery industry existence is : a) easy to find raw material b) large portion of capitals is from the maker personal money c) large portion of workers is from the maker’s village  d) marketting with selling on distributor or order e) the maker’s income must be enough,  arround Rp. 600.000 – 1.500.000. The existence stratevgy which the gerabah makers use is networing strategy, by utilizing market network from distributors or collectors to keep pottery industry existence, physical  enviroment condition  of clay composition on riverbanks of Bengawan Solo river and lime mountains of Perhutani’s land affected by errotions and landslides which eliminate two top layer of land, the upper layer (topsoil) and the lower soil (subsoil) that will affect  fertility of the land. But the society already have a effort to keep the condition of physical enviroment, by keeping the tradition of taking enough of clay, stay on the traditional method, and planting trees
