Application Of The Learning Cycle 5E Model Assisted By Worksheet To Improve Student Concept Understanding On Additive Substances
Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, peningkatan pemahaman konsep, dan respon peserta didik terhadap penerapan model learning cycle 5E pada materi zat aditif. Jenis Penelitian menggunakan pre-eksperimental design dengan rancangan one group pretest-posttest design. Sampel dalam penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas VIII-A UPT SMP Negeri 14 Gresik yang berjumlah 16 orang pada semester ganjil 2021/2022. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, soal pretest posttest, dan lembar angket. Teknik Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, pemberian tes awal dan akhir, serta pemberian angket. Analisis data keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dilakukan dengan menghitung rata-rata setiap kegiatan pembelajaran, peningkatan pemahaman konsep dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji paired sample t-test, dan uji n-gain, sedangkan respon peserta didik dianalisis dengan menghitung rata-rata persentase respon peserta didik. Keterlaksanaan pembelajaran memperoleh hasil pada pertemuan pertama sebesar 88% dengan kategori sangat baik dan pertemuan kedua 90% kategori sangat baik. Pemahaman konsep mengalami peningkatan dari rata-rata nilai pretest 58,75 menjadi nilai posttes 84,38 dan skor N-gain sebesar 0,62 dengan kategori sedang. Hasil respon peserta didik sangat baik dengan persentase sebesar 91%. Oleh karena itu, disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model learning cycle 5E berbantuan LKPD dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada materi zat aditif di UPT SMP Negeri 14 Gresik.

The purpose of research to describe the implementation of learning, increasing understanding of concepts, and student responses to the application of learning cycle 5E model on additive subtances. This type of research used a pre-experimental design with a design of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample in this research were students of class VIII-A UPT SMP Negeri 14 Gresik, amounted 16 people in the odd semester of 2021/2022. The instruments used a learning implementation observation sheet, pretest posttest question, and questionnaire sheets. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, giving pretest and posttest, and giving questionnaires. Data analysis of learning implementation was carried out by calculating the average of each learning activity, increasing concept understanding was analyzed using normality test, paired sample t-test, and n-gain test, while student responses were analyzed by calculating the average percentage of student responses. The implementation of learning obtained results at the first meeting of 88% in the very good category and at the second meeting 90% in the very good category. Concept understanding has increased from an average pretest value of 58,75 to a posttest value of 84,38 and an N-gain score of 0,62 in the medium category. The results of student responses are very good with a percentage of 91%. Therefore, it is concluded that the application of the learning cycle 5E model assisted by worksheet can improve student concept understanding on additive substances at UPT SMP Negeri 14 Gresik.
