Pendidikan merupakan sarana terpenting untuk membentuk karakteristik bangsa. Dalam dunia pendidikan ada empat masalah utama pendidikan yang ada di Indonesia. Masalah tersebut meliputi kurikulum, guru, budaya literasi, serta buku teks yang digunakan oleh siswa di dalam kelas. Keempat masalah tersebut saling berhubungan satu sama lain.

                Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan bahan ajar sejarah dengan pendekatan ilmu – ilmu sosial untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Trenggalek. Peneliti fokus pada satu kelas, yakni XII IPS 1. Dari data yang telah dihimpun oleh peneliti bahwa sekolah telah menyiapkan beberapa buku paket sebagai penunjang belajar siswa, LKS (Lembar Kerja Siswa). Selain itu, sekolah juga memfasilitasi wifi untuk menunjang pembelajaran siswa di dalam kelas.

                Rumusan masalah dari penelitian ini adalah 1) Bagaimana kelayakan bahan ajar dengan menggunakan pendekatan ilmu sosial pada pembelajaran di SMA Negeri 1 Trenggalek? 2) Bagaimana bahan ajar dengan pendekatan ilmu sosial dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa SMA Negeri 1 Trenggalek?

                Kelayakan bahan ajar diukur dengan menggunakan skala Guttman dimana lebih dari 61% respon siswa dapat dianggap bahan ajar layak untuk digunakan di dalam proses pembelajaran. Pada penelitian ini, 73% siswa merespon dan bahan ajar ini dapat dikatakan layak. Sedangkan hasil belajar siswa meningkat setelah diadakan post test pada akhir pertemuan.

Abstract

Education is the most important means to shape the characteristics of the nation. In the world of education there are four main educational problems in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the utilization of historical teaching materials with a social science approach to improve student learning outcomes in Trenggalek 1 High School. The researcher focuses on one class, namely XII IPS 1. From the data collected by researchers that the school has prepared several textbooks as supporting students' learning, LKS (Student Worksheet). In addition, the school also facilitates wifi to support student learning in the classroom.

The formulation of the problem from this study is 1) What is the feasibility of teaching materials using the social science approach to learning in Trenggalek 1 High School? 2) How can teaching materials using the social science approach improve the learning outcomes of Trenggalek 1 High School students?

The feasibility of teaching materials is measured using the Guttman scale where more than 61% of students' responses can be considered appropriate teaching materials to be used in the learning process. In this study, 73% of students responded and this teaching material could be said to be feasible. While student learning outcomes increase after a post test is held at the end of the meeting.
