This research is
motivated by the lack of interest and skills of students in Indonesian language
subjects, especially in class VIII drama material. Dramatic material which is
an illustration of human life that is staged is one of the places for students
to explore their world according to their age level. The way teachers teach who
are still using conventional learning models is no longer able to accommodate
the characteristics and activities of students who are increasingly active and
innovative. So we need a learning model that is able to support students'
creativity in Indonesian language subjects, especially drama material in drama
performances. For this reason a new learning model is needed that supports fun,
active learning, and all of them participate in one of them is the SAVI
learning model (Somatic, Audio, Visual, Intellectual). The SAVI learning model
combines students' motion, audio, visual and cognitive skills in understanding
material. So that the teacher acts as a facilitator in delivering material.
This study focuses on class VIII drama learning with competency achievements
that are capable of staging plays that have been made. The focus of this study
is on class VIII A drama learning with competency achievement is able to stage
the drama script that has been made, besides that there is an awkwardness,
shame and lack of confidence to be one obstacle that is still found in some
students.
The SAVI
learning model with video media has a form of a final draft that has been
adapted to the material and students' characteristics. The final draft that has
undergone validation until the final product is produced is tested to students
to test the level of effectiveness. This study aims to describe the process of
developing the SAVI learning model in video media and describing the quality of
the SAVI learning model in video media in class VIII drama learning.
This research is
a Thiagarajan 4D development study which has 4 main stages, namely: (1) Define
(Defining), (2) Design, (3) Develop (Development) and (4) Disseminate. However,
due to time and cost limitations, it is only done until the development stage.
The subjects in this study were class VIII A Menganti Junior High School 1,
Gresik. Data collection techniques used were observation, questionnaires, and
tests .
The results in the study consisted
of two data, namely the process of development results and the quality of the
SAVI learning model with video media. The process of developing the SAVI
learning model with video media has been completed on January 20, 2019, has
been validated on January 25, 2019, and trials have been conducted on February
4-16, 2019. The quality of the SAVI learning model in video media consists of
two criteria, namely validity and effectiveness. The validity of the SAVI video
learning model was determined through the results of validation by the expert validator
and obtained a percentage of 91.05% very valid category. The practicality of
the video media SAVI learning model is determined by observing the activities
of teachers and students with a percentage of 82.28% categorized as very
effective; student test results are tests of knowledge aspects and skills
aspects with the results of 79.25% categorized as good/effective; and student
response questionnaires with a percentage of 99.4% categorized as very good /
effective. It can be concluded that the quality of the SAVI learning model has
very high-quality video with a percentage of 87.81%..
