Work readiness is a key
indicator of the success of vocational education in producing competent
graduates prepared to face challenges of
job market. However, current reality tells a different story, as many
high school graduates continue to contribute to high unemployment rates. This
study aims to analyze influence of internship subjects, self-efficacy, and
career guidance on the work readiness of students specializing in accounting at
state vocational high schools (SMKN) in Bojonegoro Regency.
Data were collected using a
survey method, employing questionnaires distributed to twelfth-grade students
specializing in accounting at SMKN in Bojonegoro Regency. Research employed an
ex post facto method with a quantitative approach. Data analysis utilized
Partial Least Square (PLS) path analysis to measure individual and combined
effects of independent variables – internship subjects, self-efficacy, and
career guidance – on dependent variable of work readiness.
Results revealed that
internship subjects (significance value 0.000 < 0.05, t-statistic 4.434 >
1.96) and career guidance (significance value 0.000 < 0.05, t-statistic
9.440 > 1.96) have a positive and significant influence on students’ work
readiness. Conversely, self-efficacy (significance value 0.486 > 0.05,
t-statistic 0.696 < 1.96) does not significantly affect students' work
readiness. Additionally, combined influence of internship subjects,
self-efficacy, and career guidance on work readiness was proven significant, as
indicated by Fcalculated > Ftable (586.93 > 2.64).
