PENGEMBANGAN BUKU CERITA BERGAMBAR UNTUK PEMBELAJARAN RAGAM HIAS DI SMPN 51 SURABAYA
DEVELOPMENT OF PICTURE STORY BOOK FOR LEARNING ORNAMENTAL VARIETY AT SMPN 51 SURABAYA
Latar belakang pada pengembangan buku cerita bergambar ini dibagi menjadi tiga (1) kurangnya pengenalan ragam kebudayaan seperti pada pembelajaran ragam hias, (2) kurangnya sarana dan prasarana di SMPN 51 Surabaya sehingga dibutuhkan media pembelajaran yang mudah diajarkan dan dipelajari, (3) belum tersedianya media pembelajaran buku cerita bergambar dengan materi ragam hias. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan langkah-langkah pembuatan media buku cerita bergambar, proses pembelajaran, dan respon siswa. Pengembangan buku cerita bergambar pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode research and development (R&D). Penelitian ini diawali dengan identifikasi potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, revisi desain dan uji coba produk. Proses pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, pre test, post test dan kuisioner. Proses pembuatan media buku cerita bergambar ini divalidasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli media. Uji validasi materi mendapatkan kategori sangat baik dengan prosentase sebesar 95,83% dan uji validasi media sebesar 90,62%. Setelah melalui proses validasi, media kemudian di uji cobakan terhadap 10 siswa kelas VII SMPN 51 Surabaya. Hasil penelitian ini dibuktikan dengan peningkatan nilai pre test ke nilai post test siswa. Prosentase nilai pre test sebesar 64,3%, dan hasil nilai post test sebesar 79,7%, kemudian didukung pula dengan hasil kuisioner siswa yang mendapat prosentase sebesar 85%, dengan demikian media ini efektif, serta dapat meningkatkan antusias siswa dalam proses pembelajaran.
The background to the development of this picture story book is divided into three (1) the lack of introduction to various cultures such as learning of decorative types, (2) the lack of facilities and infrastructure at SMPN 51 Surabaya so that learning media are needed that are easy to teach and learn, (3) the unavailability of learning media illustrated story book with decorative material. The purpose of this study is to describe and explain the steps for making picture book media, the learning process, and student responses. The development of a picture book in this study uses the research and development (R&D) method. This research begins with the identification of potentials and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision and product testing. The process of collecting research data using the method of observation, interviews, documentation, pre test, post test and questionnaire. The process of making this pictorial story book media was validated by material experts and media experts. The material validation test got the very good category with a percentage of 95.83% and the media validation test was 90.62%. After going through the validation process, the media was then tested on 10 grade VII students of SMPN 51 Surabaya. The results of this study were evidenced by the increase in the pre-test scores to the students' post-test scores. The percentage of the pre-test score was 64.3%, and the post-test score result was 79.7%, then it was also supported by the results of the student questionnaire who got a percentage of 85%, thus this media was effective, and it could increase students' enthusiasm in the learning process.
