KORELASI ANTARA KECEMASAN BELAJAR BAHASA INGGRIS SISWA (KOGNITIF, AFEKTIF, SIKAP) DAN PENAMPILAN BERBICARA MEREKA DI SEKOLAH MENENGAH KEJURUAN
THE CORRELATION BETWEEN STUDENTS ENGLISH LEARNING ANXIETY (COGNITIVE, AFFECTIVE, BEHAVIOR) AND THEIR SPEAKING PERFORMANCE IN VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
Speaking performance is a type of oral communication in which one person conveys ideas and information to another by making sounds, gestures, and even moving their entire body, including their face and other facial muscles. However, speaking in front of a class is the ability that students fear using the most, thus even when they are fluent speakers of English, most students have anxiety. The aims of this research is to find out the correlation between students anxiety and their speaking performance, also find out which component that more contribute to students’ speaking performance. This research conducted quantitative method in Vocational High School especially in tenth grade with the 65 participants. To conduct the research, the researcher used questionnaire and students speaking performance score as instruments. Then, the data analyzed by descriptive statistic and pearson correlation. The result of this research revealed that the r calculation for students' anxiety and speaking performance is -.596. Moreover, the N.Sig of this research is .000 it means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Furthermore, another results showed that r calculation for cognitive and speaking performance is -.230. Meanwhile the r calculation for affective and speaking performance is -.034. The last r calculation for behavior and speaking performance is -.151. It can be conclude that there was a negative medium correlation between students anxiety and speaking performance. Meanwhile there was no correlation among cognitive, affective, behavior and speaking performance. This research was recommended for future researcher who want to research this topic, teacher, and students.
