Data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires, and tests. Observations were made to observe the implementation of the learning design using supplementary books and student activities during learning. The questionnaire was used to determine the student's response to the supplement book, while the test was to measure student learning outcomes. The data analysis technique is to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the supplement book in a descriptive qualitative manner with percentage techniques and infrential analysis through the calculation of n-gain.
As for the results of the validity aspect of supplement book products on 90% material and 90% design, it can be concluded that the product is suitable for use. The practical aspect includes the implementation of learning by teachers and students which reaches 86% and 82% with the very good category.
The results of the effectiveness aspect show an increase in learning outcomes from 35% to 90%. The calculation of n-gain for increasing critical thinking skills reached 0.57 in the medium category, while the n-gain for improving learning outcomes reached 0.71 in the high category. This indicates that there is a significant difference in student learning outcomes after participating in learning using supplement books based on Surabaya local wisdom.
