ANALYSIS OF THE PHYSICAL CONDITION LEVEL OF STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AT SMKN 2 BUDURAN SIDOARJO
This study was conducted because there was no information available regarding the physical condition profile of students participating in extracurricular sports activities at SMKN 2 Buduran. The purpose of this study was to identify the physical condition of students involved in volleyball, basketball, futsal, and badminton extracurricular activities, as well as to evaluate aspects that were not optimal and provide recommendations for appropriate training programs. This study used a quantitative method with a descriptive approach, involving 36 students as samples. Data collection was carried out through physical tests, including leg dynamometer for leg muscle strength, sit and reach for flexibility, 20-meter sprint for maximum speed, bleep test (MFT) for cardiovascular endurance, and 1-minute push-ups and 1-minute sit-ups for muscle endurance. Data analysis used descriptive statistics in the form of percentages, with assessments based on T-scores and comparisons of averages between extracurricular activities. The results showed that most students were in the moderate physical condition category (52.77%). As many as 36.11% had good leg muscle strength, while flexibility (80.55%), maximum speed (86.11%), and cardiovascular endurance (88.88%) were classified as very poor. On the other hand, muscle endurance showed better results, with (44.44%) 1-minute push-ups in the good category and (47.22%) 1-minute sit-ups in the very good category. In general, extracurricular futsal students showed superior physical conditions, especially in the 1-minute sit-up and leg dynamometer tests.
