Analysis of High School Physics Teaching Modules on the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Driven Schools
This study aims to identify the design of high school physics teaching modules under the Independent Curriculum in driving schools, analyze the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in high school physics subjects at these schools, and assess the level of alignment of high school physics teaching modules in driving schools with the guidelines for learning and assessment. The research utilizes a mixed-methods approach, incorporating triangulation of quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate the congruence of teaching modules with the guidelines for learning and assessment according to the Independent Curriculum and to assess the execution of the Independent Curriculum in high school physics subjects. The research findings indicate that the physics teaching modules used in four driving schools have been designed by the prescribed standards. However, the two schools did not fully include all components of the teaching modules. Additionally, the integration of technology in teaching has not been fully implemented in all modules, indicating room for improvement in this aspect. The implementation of the Independent Curriculum in high school physics subjects at these driving schools is generally effective. Teachers and school stakeholders, in general, have a good understanding of the concept and objectives of the Independent Curriculum in enhancing educational quality. Physics teachers have adopted strategies that support independent learning, although some students still have limited comprehension of the concept of independent learning. Furthermore, the study shows that the high school physics teaching modules used under the Independent Curriculum in four driving schools are by the guidelines for learning and assessment. However, several aspects need improvement, such as the integration of technology in teaching, the formulation of appropriate and accurate learning objectives, the selection of suitable teaching models, the choice of relevant teaching materials, and a deeper understanding of the concept of independent learning among students.
