There are various positions in a football game, one of
them is a striker. Striker is in the front position of the football team and
the main role is scoring a goal and giving a space to another player as well.
During the Asian zone of the 2022 World Cup qualification, the Indonesia national
football team is in group G along with Thailand, Uni Emirat Arab (UEA),
Vietnam, and Malaysia. In the first leg, the Indonesia national football team
got a disappointing result. They only made three scores in the match.
The
purpose of this research is to determine the statistic of strikers in the
Indonesia national football team who competed during the first leg in the Asian
zone of the 2022 World cup qualification. This research is expected to describe
the strikers’ profiles of the Indonesia national football team from the match,
hence it can help the coaches to evaluate their football players, and develop
the candidate of best football players from the early stage to build the future
of Indonesia football, especially for the strikers.
The research
method used is quantitative by applying descriptive approach. The source of
data is secondary data taken from four video recordings of the Indonesia
national football team during the first leg in the Asian zone of the 2022 World
Cup qualification.
Based
on the result, the total time of four matches is 360 minutes and Indonesia
national football team strikers spent 358 minutes in total with an average of
89,5 minutes and 2,6 minutes total time of controlling the ball with an average
of 31,5 seconds in each match. The strikers got 89 times receive with an
average of 22 times. Shot off target for one time with an average of 0,25 time
and shot on target for four times with an average of one time and 2 scores with
an average of 0,5 in each match. There was no assist in those four matches,
chances created were done for 4 times with an average of 1 time, while big
chances strikers of the Indonesia national football team got 3 times with an
average of 0,75 time in each match.
