Science Literacy Ability (KLS), one of the important abilities in the 21st Century, the KLS of students which is still low shows that the instructions that has been implemented is less able to facilitate students to practice and implement KLS. This can be overcome by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in which innovation can be implemented in order to obtain maximum results, one of which is by integrating Argument Mapping (AM) assisted by software rationale. Based on these descriptions, this research aims to analyze the effectiveness of physics’s instructions in AM integrated PBL models assisted by technology to improve the science literacy ability of high school students, describe the implementation of instructions, and instructions’s responses. This research was pre-experimental with one group pre-test and post-test design. The research subjects were students of class XI IPA 1, XI IPA 2, and XI IPA 3 in SMA Negeri 11 Surabaya, chosen using a purposive sampling technique. The collected data was analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The results showed that AM integrated PBL instructions assisted by technology was effective to improve the science literacy ability of high school students as indicated by: 1) there was a statistically significant increase in science literacy at α = 5% in all three study classes, 2) higher post-test results from the results of the pre-test with the average n-gain of the three study classes obtained 0.60 with the medium category, and 3) the average n-gain results of the three study classes were not different (consistent). AM integrated PBL instructions activities assisted by technology to improve the science literacy skills of students in the three classes of the research carried out with an average percentage of 89% in very good criteria. Students’ responses toward the instructions to improve the ability of science literacy based on questionnaire analysis of responses obtained positive responses in all three classes with an average percentage of good by 82% with a very good category.
