Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas metode simak baca dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’an Braille pada siswa tunanetra di SMPLB-A YPAB Gebang Putih Surabaya. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat dan kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’an Braille, yang disebabkan oleh keterbatasan media, metode yang kurang variatif, serta perlunya strategi pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa tunanetra.
Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimental tipe one-group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah enam siswa tunanetra. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes membaca Al-Qur’an Braille berdasarkan lima aspek penilaian. Instrumen penelitian telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya, dengan hasil semua aspek dinyatakan valid (r > 0,8114) dan reliabilitas sangat tinggi (α = 0,9333).
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor rata-rata dari 11,67 menjadi 13,67 setelah perlakuan. Uji Wilcoxon menghasilkan Thitung lebih kecil dari Ttabel, sehingga terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara pretest dan posttest. Dengan demikian, metode simak baca efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’an Braille siswa tunanetra.

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Listen-and-Read method in improving the ability to read the Braille Qur’an among blind students at SMPLB-A YPAB Gebang Putih Surabaya. The research was motivated by the low interest and ability of students in reading the Braille Qur’an, which is influenced by limited media, lack of varied methods, and the need for instructional strategies suitable for the characteristics of blind students.
This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were six blind students. Data were collected through reading tests based on five assessment aspects. The instrument was tested for validity and reliability, with all items declared valid (r > 0.8114) and highly reliable (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.9333).
The results showed an increase in the average score from 11.67 to 13.67 after treatment. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test produced a T-value of 0, which was lower than the critical value of 2, indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. Therefore, the Listen-and-Read method is proven to be effective in enhancing students’ ability to read the Braille Qur’an.
