Pelaksanaan pembelajaran ragam hias pada bahan tekstil diketahui belum terlaksana kegiatan penerapan praktiknya, sehingga penerapan teknik stensil dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif untuk pembelajaran ragam hias pada bahan tekstil. Penelitian terkait penerapan teknik stensil dalam berkarya ragam hias pada bahan tekstil bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan teknik stensil dalam berkarya ragam hias pada mata pelajaran seni budaya siswa kelas VII E SMP Negeri 17 Surabaya, menghasilkan karya dari penerapan teknik stensil dalam berkarya ragam hias pada mata pelajaran seni budaya siswa kelas VII E SMP Negeri 17 Surabaya, mendeskripsikan faktor pendukung dan penghambat penerapan teknik stensil dalam berkarya ragam hias pada mata pelajaran seni budaya kelas VII E SMP Negeri 17 Surabaya. Jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data observasi, wawancara, pendokumentasian, pemotretan, dan angket. Data penelitian dianalisis melalui tiga tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Uji validitas data menggunakan triangulasi data. Penerapan teknik stensil di kelas VII E berlangsung selama tiga pertemuan. Hasil karya dengan penerapan teknik stensil dalam berkarya ragam hias dilihat berdasarkan kategori penilaian baik, cukup baik, dan kurang baik. Dalam penerapannya tidak luput dari faktor pendukung dan penghambat. Pada teknik stensil untuk alat dan bahan  mudah ditemukan dengan biaya yang terjangkau, serta cara kerja lebih mudah sehingga siswa dapat belajar dengan membuat pola sendiri. Saran bagi guru seni budaya, diharapkan lebih mengeksplor praktik yang baru agar wawasan dan kreativitas siswa semakin berkembang.

Learning of decorative on textile materials is known to have not been implemented, so the application of stencil techniques can be used as an alternative for learning decorative styles in textile materials. This type of descriptive qualitative research uses data collection techniques of observation, interview, documentation, shooting, and questionnaire. Research data were analyzed through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. Test the validity of the data using data triangulation. The application of the stencil technique in class VII E lasts for three meetings. The results of the work with the application of stencil techniques in the work of decorative diversity styles are seen based on good rating categories, satisfactory, less than satisfactory . In its application, does not escape from supporting and inhibiting factors. Stencil techniques for tools and materials are easily found at affordable costs, and work methods are easier so students can learn by making their own patterns. Suggestions for educators are expected to explore new practices so that students insight and creativity develop.
